Our Beautiful Family Room by Bassett Furniture

One of the biggest changes, of the many in this industry, is that content creation has grown to be much more involved than it was even 3 years ago. Instead of a blog post and an Instagram when you’re creating content for your audience, it’s important to consider any/all avenues for ways to share whatever it is you created on a multitude of channels!

This is something I’ve been working on this year and while I’ve certainly improved in this area, it’s something I’d love to bring a bit more into focus.

Different people follow on different channels, so pulsing content out on as many channels as makes sense to do is important for maximizing impact!

These are the things my brain is full of right now as it’s quite a busy time of the year!

I am looking very forward to a dip in the temperatures next week! Maybe I can step outside in some of the fall outfits I’ve been trying on in my air-conditioned room and not fall apart from heat exhaustion! 😉

This week I had a 2-day Sephora Squad event that was inspiring. I wish I could meet the other squad members in person, but for now, we’re just keeping it on zoom. These events are opportunities for us to connect, to learn from brand founders and experts in TikTok, Instagram, legal, etc. It’s not something I take for granted in the least, and I always come away so proud to be a part of a creative industry!

I want to share one thing I learned about taking photos on your iPhone! There is an app called Photo Timer+ that allows you to set a timer and a # of shots to take so you can set your phone up and let it take a handful of photos. You can also space out how long the time is in between shots. I haven’t played around with it too much but in my quick testing right after I downloaded the app it seemed to be the perfect answer for taking selfies or group photos without having to RUN back to your spot from hitting the shutter on the phone!

My sister and I have a date set for Sunday night that involves pizza, wine, and a show that is coming back on HBOMax. I’m looking very, very forward to it.

I’m reading The Lazy Genius Way and enjoying it very much. I’m reading it with a friend and we’re planning on getting together every few weeks to discuss some of the points that really struck us. This is my favorite way to read something without it taking forever–accountability with a friend is essential for me!

Speaking of friends, I wrote a post recently about friendships.

Let the record show that I’ve just bought my second pair of amazon sandals because the original pair is so deeply loved and got ruined in a lake this summer. They are inexpensive, they may tear if you aren’t careful but MAN they are comfortable!

And here are a few things I mentioned on Instagram Stories recently that you may have missed:

Mascaras: Benefit Roller Lash, Patrick Ta Major Volume, Lancome Lash Idole

Apple Harvest scent with Aera!! – I cannot stop smiling whenever I smell this!

My Lake Pajamas robe – so glorious.

Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Eye Shadow Sticks (I used Dusty Mauve)

Laura Mercier Cream Eye Shadow Sticks

Sephora Shimmer taupe eyeliner – really beautiful rich brown, looks great on blue eyes!

Olaplex No 4P Blonde Enhancing Toning Shampoo – very, VERY effective!

Zella high neck shelf bra racerback tank

White walking shoes – really nice shoes for slow-paced activity (aka I wouldn’t run in these)

I am almost 70 with high arches and those Amazon sandals are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!

Kate! Did someone else write this post for you? It doesn’t sound like you 😳
Unwanted feedback I’m sure, but the flow was off – great content, just seemed different. Not as “polished”.
I’ve been a looooong time follower, just a silent commenter 😉

Hi Carrie! Nope, I’m the only author here with the help of Amanda providing links. Thanks!

I’ve been wondering the same thing about some of the stock photos. They just don’t feel authentic, it has a different feel. (i’ve been following for many, many years)

To me this just seemed like a random and rushed posted.

In your latest video coming back from Winston Salem you are wearing black sunglasses that are super cute. Do you have a link for them?
