Feeling Thankful

For the vast, vast majority of the year, I choose between two nail colors: pale, creamy white, or bright coral pink. There really isn’t an in-between for me. Well, now that I’m typing this I’m remembering in the fall that I like to wear darker nail colors, but I also tend to wear the creamy white colors during that time too!

My nails don’t stay polished for long. They are thin, prone to peeling, and brittle. I’m pretty rough on my hands as well so it’s a big deal for me to be able to get 3-4 days out of an at-home manicure. If I need something to last for more than two weeks, I’ll get a dip powder manicure at the salon. But if I’m doing my own nails at home, I’ll choose from one of the above brands!

Essie Gel Couture and Londontown Lakur last the longest on my nails. CND Vinylux is another line that tends to perform well for me! In general, I stick to OPI or Olive & June for my toenails since I don’t struggle with chips or peeling nails on my toes. The worst thing that can happen to a polish job on my toenails is my bike shoes pressing too hard against them, causing the polish to smudge a bit.

OPI and Olive & June tend to have the best shade options. I can easily find something I love to wear from those two lines.

Londontown Lakur also has a great selection, and I primarily purchase online for ease. I wish Essie Gel Couture had more colors though!

Fun nail COLOR. Not colors. You continue to show your lack of range.

There are multiple colors in this post, hence the choice for the plural word.

Kate,

When you get dip done at the salon do you generally go back to have them removed or do you do that at home? Mine are getting to an ungodly grow out but I’m not sure how to tackle at home removal.

Thanks!

Hello! These are all such fun colors! I saw you are trying out dazzle dry as well. I just purchased a few colors from there also. I wanted to know if you could please tell me what shade you were wearing from that brand? It is such a nice shade also. Thanks!

I just tried the Essie Gel Couture and although I appreciate how quickly and smoothly it dries, it comes off just as fast as any other brand :/ Any tips to make it beter? The only thing I have found that keeps my nails from chipping is Sally Hansen Hardener

Hey Kate, would you say that O&J xoxo shade is a good dupe for cajun shrimp? They’re all sooo close in the picture I can’t quite tell if it’s coral-y enough.
