Am I Keeping the Peloton Bike?

We’ve all heard it a million times already but social media is a vital asset to nearly any business. Whether it’s online or a brick and mortar location, having a presence on Instagram, Facebook or anywhere else that feels appropriate for the business is one of the greatest ways to connect with and grow your consumer base.

I started blogging before Instagram became what it is today, and even just slightly before Pinterest blew up in popularity. I’ve seen the shift from computer-based content (a website, youtube webpage, etc) to a focus on content that fits in the palm of our hands.

There are a few tools that I use to help me accomplish creating easy and successful phone/social media-focused content and I’m sharing those with you today!

One. Ubeesize Selfie Ring Light with Cell Phone Holder Stand. This stand clips onto a sturdy surface and has a flexible arm for the phone as well as a flexible arm for the ring light. This generally lives clipped onto my desk and is a quick place for me to set up my phone if I’m filming a “hands-free” segment on IG stories.

Two. Ubeesize Selfie stick Tripod Stand with Bluetooth Remote. I use this if I’m filming a video or shooting stills on my phone or sometimes on my smaller Canon camera. It comes with a Bluetooth remote that functions with your phone and is a lightweight option that works perfectly for traveling as well!

Three. A Bluetooth keyboard. This makes e-mail, replying to DM’s, and anything “type” focused so much quicker and easier!

Four. Planoly. Planoly is a social planning app, that also has a desktop interface, that allows you to visualize what your IG feed will look like with one or more photos in the queue. You can also schedule some posts to go live, but you need to have a business account for that feature.

Five. Lightroom. I edit all of my photos in Lightroom. I occasionally use VSCO to edit but I’m finding I like the control I get from Lightroom a bit better. I have used Lightroom for years on my desktop so it makes sense that the app is an easy to use place for quick photo editing!

P.S. If you enjoyed this, you may like reading this post about some of my other shooting equipment!

Thanks for sharing this! I’ve wanted a ring light for so long – so good for selfies when the sun isn’t cooperating!

I legit never thought of a keyboard to the phone for DMs. I do get annoyed you can’t do all Instagram stuff via computer.
