How was your week? This one kind of crawled at the beginning but flew by when Wednesday hit! We are taking a trip for the next few days to the Bahamas and we’re very excited about it!

This is our first family trip where we are going to be staying in a hotel! We’re splitting a suite with my parents so it’ll be fun to all be together. I’m only 6 years into this motherhood thing but I’ve learned two helpful tips when traveling with kids: set your expectations low and be flexible.

I’m genuinely looking forward to playing in the pool with my kids and spending quality time with family. I have no other objectives beyond that!

This week on the blog I shared some photos of hairstyles I was obsessed with in the late ’90s and early 2000s. I also shared my January Beauty Favorites video!

A few other links and loves:

I have added two sneakers to my wardrobe with spring and summer in mind. First was this pair by Vince, though I must say there are so many similar options at lower price points that I kind I wish I would have searched a bit harder for! In Vince’s defense: their shoes last YEARS for me and I’m certain this pair will do the same. This pair is really cute from DSW and under $60. I also bought these from J.Crew and have worn them a few times. I love how subtle the animal print is!

With sunshine on my mind, I wanted to share some of my favorite aviators from Kate Spade, found on amazon!

I shared this tunic last time we traveled around Christmas and wanted to give it another shout out. I love the split hem and it’s perfect for leggings or even jeans and sneakers.

On IG stories I did a quick blazer/outerwear try on and ended up really liking a drapey tencel blazer I found at Abercrombie. I also had this in my cart that I found on Amazon that looks like a nicer slightly dressier version! I probably won’t end up getting this as my wardrobe is usually pretty casual, but I wanted to share it here because it comes highly reviewed!

This is a great trial set of the highly coveted Summer Fridays masks, and it comes with one of my favorite scrunchies!

A $10 eye palette that has gorgeous brown shades!

I bought the tunic in grey when you first shared it. I love it with leggings but struggle to find the right shoe to wear it outside of the house. Maybe it would be better in black?

Any sneaker or slip on sneaker would work!

I have to say I’m very jealous of your Bahamas vacation. Years ago I suggested to my husband that we travel to the Bahamas over President’s Day weekend to get a break from the cold. That same year my daughter’s dance company started having their Showcase on that same weekend and have for the past six years. I get sad every year. haha
Enjoy your time before the kid’s activities take over everything!

I’ve been to the Bahamas several times and I think it’s a crime that you are going to sit by the pool. Crime! lol Get out there and snorkel and play in the ocean. πŸ™‚ I know that’s not everyone’s thing but it’s beautiful. Have fun!

We, of course, have lots of other activities that we are going to do while we are there and I didn’t say that was the *only* thing we were doing! πŸ™‚

There are a lot of pools and waterslides and my boys love both of those things, so I’m looking forward to doing that with them, amongst the many other activities that may go unmentioned in this post! πŸ˜‰

Enjoy your content very much, but may I politely ask that you take it a little easier on the exclamation points? They lose their effect if you’re ending every sentence with one. Do hope you enjoy the Bahamas. πŸ™‚

Hi Kim, you are free to ask that question but I write how I speak and this specific blog post contains a pretty good deal of enthusiasm. Thanks!

Hi Kate! I really enjoyed this blog! I get very excited when you post a new blog/video. I’m living in Australia for meantime and they have many channels here as well. However, you are my Go-To always! The eyeshadow pallet looks amazing. Enjoy your trip!!

ENJOY!!!
Flying with the little ones – be as relaxed as you can. Take less things on plane than you think. The plane and in-flight entertainment and seat and everything and flight map is enough distraction πŸ™‚

I am into 4 years of the motherhood and I have never thought of taking a trip with the kids. Taking them to school or a mall is a whole of hassle, I don’t even want to think about a trip. I just have this feeling that I might lose my mind.

How are you coping?

How would you rate the quality of that eyeshadow palette? I’ve been looking into buying a better quality palette, maybe from Tarte, but those colors are exactly what I’m looking for!
