Drugstore Makeup Favorites

January Beauty Favorites

I’ve found a few really great items that fall into the “drugstore” category that I’m sharing with you today!

First up, the NYX Bare With Me tinted skin veil. When I first tried this I was really pleased with the blurring and color it added to my skin without being a full coverage foundation. It’s creamy, blends in really nicely just with fingertips, and stays true to the color during the whole day of wear.

I’ve found two great Revolution PRO products! The eyebrow pencil is a game-changer. I’ve been using it non-stop for months. It deposits really nice, even color without having to push too hard on the skin. The product stays all day and I love that there is a spoolie on the opposite end to fan out eyebrow hairs or soften strokes from the pencil. I use shade Ash Brown.

The Revolution PRO Elements Eye Primer in the shade Magnetic is a really nice base for eyeshadow, or can simply be worn alone. It’s creamy and a little bit more wet in its consistency, compared to the MAC Paint Pots, but it goes on smooth and doesn’t crease on me.

e.l.f. Halo Glow setting powder is similar to Laura Mercier Glow Translucent Loose Setting Powder but at a much lower price point. It adds a bit of warmth to the skin so use it with a light hand!

Lastly, the Maybelline Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette has a lot of really pretty shades to use throughout the winter. I love the purples but it also has a really nice offering of neutrals, taupes, and warm browns. When used with a great eyeshadow primer, I’ve had success with blending and longevity with these shadows.

Do you go with light or medium in the glo setting powder?

I am wondering the same thing.

Would you compare the coverage of the Bare with Me to a bb cream or more of a tinted moisturizer? Thanks for these affordable suggestions!

I just got the Essence brow mascara, and I LOVE it. I previously used Benefit’s Gimme Brow and the Essence works just as well.

For the setting powder, could I use that all over my face to set my BB cream? Or is that just best under the eyes? I’m trying to get my 5-minute face down and would love one product for setting like my chin and nose area as well as under eyes!

Also adding on two new to me products:

Flower Beauty Blush Bomb: I’ve read these are dupes for Glossier’s cloud paint, but I haven’t tried those. I love the blush bomb, though. Great color pay off with just a tiny bit of product and super affordable.

Flower Beauty Seal the Deal illuminating setting spray: I love that this is a super fine mist and it has no smell. I’ve only used it for a few days, but I think it has great staying power!
