A Successful Impulse Purchase And What Came After It

Homemade Caramels

Recently I was wandering through the Nordstrom beauty area, one of my very favorite places to wander, and stopped at the Bobbi Brown counter.

I wasn’t searching for anything, but my eyes caught a holiday gift set sample that I wanted to get a feel for.

I tested the moisturizer that was sitting out as a sample and was blown away at how thick and hydrating it was. I mean, my skin was immediately radiant with moisture. An employee came over to help me and explain a bit more about Bobbi Brown skincare and I found myself leaving with a few sample containers in my bag.

Sidenote: you know you can ask for samples of some products at Sephora and Nordstrom, right? I mean, they can’t easily give you a sample of eyeshadow or pencil, but they certainly can of a liquid, cream, or loose powder product! Don’t be afraid to ask!

I have been a long-time user and fan of Bobbi Brown makeup but didn’t really explore much of the skincare beyond using the Face Base primer that Andreea recommended a few years ago.

After spending a few days trying the samples, I ended up ordering the Extra Repair Moisturizing Cream because I loved it so much. I also really enjoyed the Extra Repair Moisture Balm, which as SPF 25, for a super-rich cream.

During a few of the Black Friday/Cyber Weekend sales, I replenished a few favorites while adding a few new things to my cart. I have really enjoyed using the Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm, either under makeup or on its own! I’m also testing out some of the Face Oil that came with a kit.

I’ll continue to update as I explore more into the line, but for right now I just wanted to share how great the Extra Repair Moisturizing Cream is for those of us with dry skin!

As someone who loves trying out new skincare and beauty, I just want to remind you that my testing and exploration of new brands doesn’t mean that I dislike products I’ve mentioned here in the past. For example, a few brands that I’ve sung praises for (and still do!!) are Fresh, Ole Henricksen, and Biossance

I’ve been using the extra eye cream and moisturizer now for a year and I love them both. Having been recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s my skin is so dry. Not to mention using Nu Derm and prescription retin A. I don’t think my skin could be ANY drier! This stuff is amazing.

I haven’t tried anything from Bobbi Brown yet but I’d love to try the Face Base Primer this year and that moisturizing cream sounds heavenly!

Nordstrom is the best for samples! Have to try that moisturizer as it gets so cold and dry in Idaho in the winter.
Thanks for the great info.
