Four “Staple” Footwear Options for Fall

3 Small Ways to Shift into Fall Mode with your Style

Of the footwear purchases I’ve made in the past, the ones I regret the most are colorful ones. In the summer I’m always tempted by red espadrilles or bolder sandals, but I find that they end up just sitting in my closet the majority of the time! I’d so much rather have a neutral shoe that I can wear with a handful of different items than one particular shoe that only goes with an outfit or two.

So, with that in mind, I naturally lean towards neutral and easy to wear footwear for the upcoming season. One pair is a shoe that I’ve had for years, and the others are just more updated takes on classics, in my opinion.

Four “staple” footwear options for Fall:

One. Slip-on sneakers. (Pair pictured, Budget option) I have loved the leather Vince slip-on sneakers I’ve had for years. I purchased a new pair as my older pair was starting to look a little rough, but I kept the older pair for the days I wanted to wear a slip-on and not really care if it got dirty. Dr. Scholl’s makes a similar and very comfortable option of this style of shoe too!

Two. Slingbacks. (Pair pictured, Similar option) I am simply not a mule girl, but I wanted a pair of flat shoes to wear throughout the fall that still felt dressed up. These slingbacks are comfortable and I love the subtle heel detail too!

Three. Ankle booties. (Pair pictured, Budget option) I typically don’t like to exceed a heel of around 2 inches but these are so comfortable to wear that I added them to the list. I wear an ankle bootie more often than not in the fall and winter so I know these will get a ton of wear! A similar option with a lower heel is these!

Four. Block Heel Pumps. (Pair pictured, Budget option) I wore high heel pumps on the Biltmore weekend and was quickly reminded that they aren’t super comfortable to walk in! A block heel pump though? That is right up my alley. These are so dang comfortable and dress up any outfit! These have a higher heel but look very similar otherwise.

Other than athletic sneakers for the gym, and adding in knee-high boots closer to winter, these are the four pairs of shoes that I’m certain will get tons of wear this fall!

Slip on sneakers are my favourite! They’re great for casual outfits and best of all, they’re so convenient haha! 😀

Yes, yes and yes! I love these options. I’m obsessed with slip on sneakers and booties – but I totally agree with these options!

I highly recommend J.C. Penney for budget booties! They actually have a great selection, and the A.N.A and Arizona brands are comfortable.

Didn’t you link a plain flat shoe with just a leopard print heel. Two of the links here go to same shoe. Loved the leopard print heel only look.

I have honestly been looking for a pair of adult KEDS for awhile! There is something about the slip-on white sneakers that work great with a dress or jeans! Are they true to size, by chance? That is my only fear of ordering online…sizing. =/

What type of socks, if any, do you usually wear with slip-on sneakers?
