3 Versatile Fall Jackets You Need in Your Closet

About The Sephora Summer Bonus Event + a few holy grail products

The right jacket can really finish an outfit in the best way. The three styles I’m sharing below are versatile, great for a casual or simple wardrobe, and can easily be dressed up or down. I will link to all of the exact items I’m wearing in all three photos at the very bottom of the post!

The first, and most worn style, is the field or utility jacket.

I love how easy this is to throw on with jeans and a tee, but it can also be a good option for throwing over a casual dress as well. I’m drawn to the structure of this style of jacket, without the stiffness. I also love rolling the sleeves up a bit so it looks casual and relaxed.

Over the years, I’ve had field/utility jackets from J.Crew Factory, Old Navy, and Target. You can click on any of the images below to shop some of my picks for this fall.

A sweater blazer, or “swazer” as one IG follower taught me, is such a classic + fresh option for a casual wardrobe.

This is a new addition to my closet and I’m so glad I added it. The fact that it’s a knit makes it feel comfortable and easy, but the blazer style looks sophisticated and classic. It’s been the only outer layer I’ve grabbed this summer when I run out the door and am worried about being cold in a restaurant.

My exact sweater blazer is from J.Crew Factory but there is a very similar version at J.Crew. I linked up to a few other options as well!

Last, but certainly not least, is a suede drape jacket.

This is a great date night option, and also one of my favorites to pair with a dress. It’s shorter than the other two options I’ve shared which are good at highlighting your waist and not looking too boxy! This one I’m wearing is also reversible!

Curious about any of the other items I was wearing, click on the images below!

Ooh, I love the look of the sweater-blazer! The grey is a great colour too, so versatile. I need a piece like that. ❀️✨

Truth is, I don’t need anymore jackets but those look so cool and they go with pretty much everything so maybe I need to declutter some jackets and make room for some new ones.

That light gray “swazer” is so nice – I don’t have one of those in my wardrobe yet so thanks for the inspo.

Did you size down on the sweater blazer? I tried one on recently at J Crew and found it ran kind of big!

I did, I got a small when I usually wear a medium!
