My vanity is used almost as much as my computer desk in my office, and I finally, FINALLY sat down to organize it a bit! To be honest, it has looked pretty much like this for the last few months …
I leave stuff out, and I always have my camera, ring light, and a few mirrors set up if I’m filming something. I hated that it was this beautiful table at a central part of the room that was always covered in clutter. And I have no excuse because I even had 2 nearly EMPTY drawers to use!
I picked up a bunch of clear acrylic organizers from The Container Store, and started organizing my makeup that was going to live in these drawers. I have a cosmetic bag for my daily options, since I take it to the gym with me a few days a week, but the rest of the items live in the vanity drawers.
I did a purge earlier this summer when I was redecorating the office, and it felt so good to get rid of things I no longer needed, donate unused products to my friends and other places that will accept them, and generally make the entire office feel lighter.
I had it painted, and unfortunately am pretty unhappy with the quality of the paint job (lesson learned there), and finished setting up the space thanks to Modsy’s help.
So now I have a beautiful vanity area, with the quick option to set it up for filming, and my drawers are ready to hold all my products and things.
My favorite find at The Container Store is this palette organizer! The last few years have been heavy on the palette end of the spectrum (sorry single eyeshadows) and I have more to organize than I need. This allows me to see the options without them just stacking up and burying one another.
My vanity is the Bruggen Vanity, which is no longer available unfortunately, but there are so many great options out there. For a long time I was just looking for a standard writing desk with lots of drawers, but finding this 5-drawer vanity at Joss & Main was a wonderful surprise. I didn’t want one that had a built-in mirror, as I knew I would be piling my things on it. I love the modern look of this one.
As if sitting down to do my makeup wasn’t fun enough, it’s now even more enjoyable to have a clean, organized space to work at!
P.S. don’t these joggers look like a dream? Check out my favorite places to shop for furniture and home accessories!

Where do you donate unused products? I’m a fellow Raleigh resident, and I’ve been trying to find somewhere that will take the various samples that I’ve collected. Thanks!
I would love to have a vanity to do my makeup! I love yours and your setup. I actually found the Bruggen Vanity still available on Wayfair and Overstock 🙂
I would love a post on what is in the makeup bag on your vanity. I have tried to keep a bag of everyday products but I always find myself digging around for a product that didn’t make the bag. What are your go – to products recently?
I’ll try to do a post about that soon! I recently did that on facebook during a facebook live, so you can look for it over there!
Oh thanks! Definitely going to look for it.
Your vanity looks beautiful! Also, that ring light is so cool! Hank you for sharing it! I’m definitely going to pick one up! xAllie http://www.theallthatglittersblog.com
Beautiful set up! Love how refreshing it looks. Thanks once again for sharing.
Would you share where one can pick up pretty floral prints such as the one above?
They are from the brand “Our Heiday”
What a beautiful set up! This table is gorgeous.
This vanity is so pretty! I love the way you have set in up.

I LOVE IT!! I’ve been watching your stories/IG, etc. and have been waiting for this post! Love how you have it set up and the gold organizer on your shelf behind the desk is so pretty too!! I want to make myself a vanity area.
This is in regards to your Instagram post on bangs…. Do it! Maybe go a little thicker?!?! Here is some inspiration I found (PS – I’m the same way with bangs. I hate them right away and want my old hair back, so I really want to just live vicariously through you 😉 ) Hope the links work!

It’s a great space and well designed- I need to find out if a Modsy service is available in the UK. I too have been disappointed in the quality of work provided by a couple of contractors of late, what has happened to pride in workmanship?! Re your make-up, have you tried Stacks by Trinny of London? Utterly fabulous and a great website xx
You have a beautiful workspace. The ottoman looks great with it and really like the clear display stand.

What a beautiful vanity setup. I am on the hunt for a octagon shaped vanity mirror. Would you mind sharing where you got yours??? I would greatly appreciated it!!! Thank you.
I got it at West Elm but I think it’s sold out!
In your before pic you have a bigger mirror behind the camera, where did you purchase that? I’ve been looking for something exactly like it.
