3 Step Fancy Half Up

Nicole is back, as my beautiful hair model, so I can show you the easiest and prettiest half up style.

I always prefer curled hair for nicer occasions, so if you have somewhere fancy to be, go ahead and curl your hair first. I styled Nicole’s hair with a 1.25 inch barrel curling iron on my T3 curling iron.

Next, section off a triangle section of your hair around the crown. This will be left out completely, so put a clip in it to make sure you don’t inadvertently pick it up!

Pick up two sections, one from either side of your hair, and pull them back into half up ponytail. Hold everything loosely, and don’t pull the hair. Once it’s in the ponytail, flip it over so it has a little twist.

Repeat that same step with two other small sections of hair, stacking these “piggy flip” ponytails on top of one another.

Lastly, grab a loose section of hair below the ponytails and wrap it around the clear elastic that may show through.

Not only do I love how simple and classic that looks, I love how easy it is!

If you recreate this style, use #smallthingshair when you post to social media so I can come and see it!

I styled Nicole’s hair with a 1.25 inch barrel curling iron on my T3 curling iron and used Blax clear elastics to hold the pony’s. The photos were shot by Jordan Maunder.

I like the finished style but FOR ME (just my opinion!) I do not like when the ends of the hair look scraggly. They just don’t look finished to me when they are not curled like the rest of the hair.

I love this! I’m hair challenged though. How do you get the last piece you wrap around to stay in place??
