Renewed State of Mind

Maternity Wear Must Haves

This is the year that I anticipate being most casual andΒ minimal with my hair and makeup.
I never really struggled to find time to get ready for the day with David. I’d do it while he napped, or wake up a little bit before he did in order to get the day started peacefully and quietly. But with two kids? I imagine it may be more of a challenge.Β I don’t think it will be impossible, but I may just prioritize other things, like SLEEP.
Since I’ll likely err on the side of lighter coverage makeup, it’s important that my skin is healthy. I’m sure you’ve heard this a million times already, but well-hydrated and healthy skin wears makeup so much better than skin that may need a little TLC. Even women with “oily” skin who avoid moisturizers may be making their situation worse. Sometimes skin overproduces oil to make up for being dehydrated. So, a moisturizer, while it may sound counterintuitive, is actually a great product to work into your routine to keep your oil glands in check.

I have dry skin to begin with, and it gets even drier in the winter, plus I’ve noticed a general dullness to it as well. I’ve found a great skin care routine that I really love and has kept my skin nice and healthy, but I’m always happy to try new products to see what else is out there.

hope

The first thing I noticed when I tried philosophy’s renewed hope in a jar moisturizer was how quickly it absorbed into my skin. There is nothing worse than a greasy residue left behind from a face moisturizer, and that is a most important factor that I consider when determining whether or not I like a product. If it absorbs easily and quickly, AND keeps my skin hydrated like it claims, then it’s on track to be a winner.

hope2

I also noticed a general smoothness to it as well. I’ve been loyal to another moisturizer for a long time now, but philosophy’s renewed hope in a jar is much better at smoothing out more pores. And if I’m going lighter on makeup, I would love my moisturizer to do a little work too.Β You can find philosophy on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

So, not only am I happy to share another great product I’ve discovered, but I’m also thrilled to offer a $100 off offer code for philosophy.com! philosophy’s purity cleanser has been a favorite of mine for years and years, and I don’t doubt you’ll find plenty to choose from with a $100 off philosophy offer code. My skin is top priority this year. It is exceptionally dry in the worst of times but in the winter it is just plain pathetic. If I can keep it healthy I will consider this year a success. Also, along the renewing topic, my health overall; that means the way I eat, move, and the amount I sleep. I have given up reading books – which is something I have loved to do since I was a wee one – and this year I plan on reaching my goal of 52 books. Renewing my mind AND my health are my 2015 goals.

Thanks, Kate!

A friend introduced me to Philosophy in 2003 after losing my hair with breast cancer treatments. I wanted the best complextion ever. Since then a divorce & losing my job threw me into a deeper depression and forced me to reevaluate my life & my own philosophy. Now I’ve rekinded the love of my life with my best friend. He & I moved this past month to a new state for a new job and a renewed me. My Philosophy favorites include Purity Made Simple, Microdelivery Daily Exfoliating Wash, Microdelivery in-home vitamin c peptide peel, Purity Made Simple Deep-Clean Mask, Microdelivery One-Minute Purifying Enzyme Peel, The Oxygen Peel In-Home Oxygen Peel, and Hope In A Jar The Original Formula Moisturizer For All Skin Types. I feel like i have been living a life of “survival”. We sold our 1809squ ft house that we liVed in in the mountains and moved into a 500sqft apartment down the hill. Been trying to work out more and get my body tuned up before trying to have kids. I am in my first year as a children’s pastor and am trying to build a ministry. My husband and i have time consuming jobs (who doesn’t?) and want to get back to basics: walk places more, work out, say no to more things that get in the way of the important things, and take life a little slower and more stress free. just trying to renew, refocus, and recharge.

Would love to try this moisturizer! I’m on the hunt for a new one that is great! I fall in teh category of “oily skin and afraid to moisturize” but have been more faithful about trying a moisturizer this winter. This one sounds like it would work nicely for my large pores, as well…

Reply
Callie says · 01.05.15

Oh this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for me! My face is extremely dry, and even drier in the winter, plus here in Southwest Missouri the winters can get plum brutal! I’ve gotten tired of my current skin care regimen, it’s just not cutting it. I’ve been researching, and this may just be the answer I’m needing! Can’t wait to try this out! **off subject a little, do you use an exfoliator? With my skin being so dry, I find that the real gritty ones are pretty harsh on my skin, and I’ve yet to find a gentle one, that actually gets the job done!! Any recommendations are appreciated! Thank you!!

After trying several disappointing drugstore moisturizers (an embarrassing amount really), I finally broke down and bought a small container of “Hope in a Jar” at the recommendation of a friend. I plan to renew myself this year by getting back into a workout routine and eating better! We moved back here to Texas about 3 months ago and I have not worked out once, which is very weird for me. I’m ready to feel good again and I’m hoping to add some healthier eating to the mix as well. With a new house, new job, & being close to our family and friends again, we are always so busy my husband and I just grab what’s easy and usually that means unhealthy. Hopefully we can get back on track soon!

Mostly referring to taking better care of or bodies (be more active, eat better, love every inch of ourselves and each other, etc…). So, one of my goals is to take better care of my skin, and to do that I’m drinking more water, cleansing before workouts and bed, and moisturizing! I don’t wear a lot of makeup (normally just tinted moisturizer, mascara, lip tint, and blush in the winter), but I want to be able to keep healthy skin into my 30s!
I actually ordered a sample of this moisturizer through their Facebook promotion and am excited to try it, too!

My husband is military and we recently moved to Idaho, the result of which is flat hair and dry skin. I’ve tried a few different moisturizers, but it’s hard to keep up with a lotion routine when working a full-time job and being a hands-on mom at home. My past year has been hard. Having had a miscarriage and losing family members within months of each other has given me a new state of mind. I am making an effort to improve not only my mental happiness but my external appearance as well. I am a bit of a tomboy and am in the beginning stages of my new career so I am hoping to add a little more “beauty” to my routine to give myself a more polished look for my job. I’m a mom to 2 young girls (6 and 3 years of age). This year, I have decided that I need to make myself a priority, along with the needs of my girls and my husband (and everything else). One of the things I want to do is to take better care of my skin and this new moisturizer seems to be a good place to start!

I am going to exercise more, make more time for family, and make sure to save some time for myself.

This year I plan to renew myself by focusing on taking care of myself both inside and out. Eating right, exercise, and great skin care products!

I am eating more whole foods and less processed foods to try to renew my digestive system to see if it will help with my tummy troubles. So far, it is helping!

I am renewing my skin with philosophy as well. I decided to take the jump and buy some of their products. I have only been using purity and renewed hiaj for 4 days and my skin is improving. I cannot believe it!

I just had a health scare and after finding out that it all is okay, I have vowed to take better care of myself. Including eating better and trying to not stress so much about unimportant issues.
