37 weeks
maternity jeans: Hudson
shoes: Alfani (very old)

As the days of dressy white blouses are coming to an end, I’m finding myself trying to wear my “nice” clothes as much as possible. And even that is a bit of a struggle because all I do now is work from home!

Nonetheless, it feels good to dress up every once in awhile.

I’m in week 37 of pregnancy. The baby is more active than ever and I’m getting more and more excited to meet him. In fact, I had a dream last night that I saw him and he had brown eyes. Now I’m curious to see if he will, or if he’ll get my blue eyes.

I’ve entered the stage where people ask me, with much sympathy in their voice, “Wow, how are you feeling?!” As if they already know my response will be, “I’m miserable. . .thank you for asking.” But surprisingly, I’m not. And I’m very grateful for that.

Every once in awhile I’ll get a wave of fatigue wash over me, but I don’t have any perpetual aches or pains. Sleep is still going fine (which I attribute working out pretty darn regularly to) and food still tastes good. Occasionally I’ll have reflux issues, but nothing terrible.

In general, my pregnancy has been a breeze from week 16 until now. Prior to that I had pretty bad morning sickness. I feel heavier, and I am heavier, and I have serious swelling happening in my legs and feet. I tried to zip my boots up yesterday and got only half way up my calf before I abandoned ship.

Flats it is!

Knowing that you waited so patiently for this time in your life, I am just thrilled to death that all has gone so well for you. Gosh, so excited!!! Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I was about 37 weeks too when I had this mantra that if I wore a scarf, you couldn’t tell I was pregnant. I had a friend’s mom tell me that only if my scarf was a poncho 🙂 She’s funny and one of those mom’s who apparently doesn’t have much of a filter 🙂 You look great! Love your polka dots!

I really look forward to following you and all your joy with your baby.
My baby is now 15 years old and I would give anything to do it all again. Beeing a mum is such a blessing and loads of fun.

You look wonderful and I’m glad you feel wonderful! The only good thing about the swelling is it’s the first thing to go after baby comes. And by first thing, I don’t necessarily mean immediately, but it definitely comes off before the weight! My swelling was gone before 2 weeks and it was such a relief! Be grateful that you can cover up your swelling 😉 My next baby is coming at the end of June and I’m praying I don’t swell as much because you can’t really hide it in the summer!

Astin says · 11.27.13

My swelling (in my feet at least) was gone the minute my son came out, it seemed. The rest (my face…oh Lord, my face) stuck around for quite awhile.

I had my little guy (first child) two months ago and I adore him so much! He will take your breathe away and love him more than anything in the world (you will think how can I love something so much but also love more). The day after I had my son I had the energy to take a shower. Let me tell you, that is the best shower you will ever take! : ) Also, breastfeeding is exhausting (especially those first few weeks when you are home) but is the most rewarding thing you will ever do! It’s like mommy and son time and there is something about giving him nourishment that is amazing. It takes time for the milk to come in but don’t get frustrated. I recommend joining a breastfeeding group, really helps!

I’m so excited for you!

I’m due in 9 weeks and this was nice to read. I’ve been on the fence about a breastfeeding group that my hospital offers. I should look more into it. I’m hoping to breastfeed for as long as possible!

I felt great most of my pregnancy, but everyone would stop me and say things like “oh, honey, when are you due? You look miserable.” Oh thanks.

Thank you, I’ve recently been schneairg for information about this subject for a long time and yours is the best I have came upon till now. But, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you positive concerning the source?|What i don’t realize is actually how you are now not really a lot more smartly-favored than you may be right now. You are so intelligent.

I’m 39 weeks so I am right with you! I really haven’t been too miserable either, but it has amazed me what people say to pregnant women. The hostess at a restaurant asked me if I could fit in a booth. Really? It was a man though so I gave him some slack! I know you can’t wait to meet your little one because I feel the same way!

Kate you look beautiful!! If you get lucky, like I did, he’ll come at 38 weeks. My friends all hated me because, according to them, your first baby usually comes late. lol And don’t hang up those ‘dressier’ clothes after he comes, I wore whatever I wanted but always had a spit-up pad or receiving blanket over my left shoulder. I rarely had to change MY clothes.

Happy Thanksgiving! And good luck with the last few weeks. =)

I’m in week 32 with our first babe (a girl) and I, too, get the sympathetic “How are you feeling?” all the time. I’m feeling great, too, so I say it very enthusiastically! Many are surprised to hear it. I feel ya on the swelling thing, though. It saddens me to not be able to wear my favorite brown boots this winter. I’m not due until end of Jan. so I still have some great boot wearing time that I’ll be missing out on. Oh well, it’s all worth it! I hope the next few weeks are just as enjoyable as the last 20+ have been 🙂

I’m a stay-at-home mom and whenever I’m dressed decently — which I always try to do anyway — and at an appointment, people will ask if I’m heading back to work. Well, yes, as a matter of fact, I am! So do whatever makes you feel good about yourself…you look fab.

It’s great your pregnancy is a breeze. I’d say mine is in the middle. For a long while I was still exercising regularly but with all my traveling recently, I think the regular exercise stopped around week 30. I still exercised some but not as regularly and now I’m regretting it. I’m more miserable just missing all the workouts.

PS you look super cute in your outfit there.
