Bump Styled: Polka Dots and Navy

next
Pregnancy Must Haves (thus far)

maternity top: Gap
maternity jeans: Gap
necklace: J. Crew Factory (also pretty)
shoes: old Alfani via TJ Maxx
(21 weeks pregnant)

I was just complaining to my sister that maternity clothes are harder to find than I thought when she pointed to this shirt at Gap. and it was maternity

So I grabbed my size and walked directly to the counter. What a win.

I’m still able to wear a lot of my knit shirts from before I was pregnant, but any blouses or “fitted” tops are out. And I prefered wearing those kinds of things anyway, so my “knit” collection was limited. I’m enjoying adding to it a little bit!
Today my husband and I are closing on our first home! To celebrate, we are going to order a pizza, sit on the floor and eat it. I can’t wait.

We’ll move in about 2 weeks and there is a lot that needs to happen between now and then, but I’m sure it will all work out just fine.

Have a wonderful weekend!

What an exciting day for you! I hope it goes awesome. I love this top and I agree, maternity is hard to find. And even harder to afford! I’m lucky in that a lot of my friends gave or lent me their maternity stuff. You look fantastic in this outfit. I love the polka dots.

Congrats, girl! You look gorgeous!! I was always someone who NEVER wanted kids and the mere thought of kids repulsed me. I teach college, and last summer one of my students was like you wait, Professor! You’ll wake up one day and want them so badly it hurts. A year later, I ran into her and had to admit she’s right! You and another blogger I follow (Iowa Girl Eats) make me yearn for a baby! Anyway, loving the updates. Congrats on the new house. We bought our house almost exactly a year ago and it’s amazing.

The bad thing about non-maternity knit shirts, they stretch really easily. I was really bummed post-partum when I went to put one on and it was all stretched out- luckily most of the time they are pretty cheap! Enjoy your pregnancy and the new house!

You look so beautiful! My husband and I closed on our house when I was about 28 weeks pregnant and we (er, he :)) painted like crazy for two weeks before we moved in. I was so glad we were able to do it all before our sweet baby arrived! She ended up coming three weeks early, too… so it’s a good thing we got in when we did! Enjoy every moment… pregnancy goes so fast! So love that little one and treasure every little kick and roll you can feel and see… he will be here before you know it! Congrats on all of your new adventures!

Congrats, you look so cute!! Just be careful about wearing your knit stuff that still “fits” even though it’s not maternity. You’d be surprised how quickly it will lose it’s shape and get stretched out and then you won’t be able to wear it again afterwards. Learned that one the hard way!

Congrats on everything… especially the closing of your first home together! I am sure you are excited to be able to do all of the things you’ve wanted with your last, but making them permanent instead of just temporary. It’s an exciting time! I close on the sale of my first home at the end of the month. I was worried about my place (a condo) selling, but a buyer was interested 4 days after it was on the market. I lived in my home for 4 years, so it is bittersweet to leave it.
Even if I don’t plan on having kids for a few years, I am definitely reverting back to your style when the time comes – you look adorable, as always. That bump is a great accessroy. 🙂

Congratulations Kate and Justin on your first home! That is so exciting! I know you will be busy getting everything ready for baby Bryan. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that my husband got me a gift card to Sephora for my birthday! He knows I follow your blog and have been watching your makeup tutorials. He is the sweetest! I feel like because of you I have somewhat of an idea of what I need to buy. But then, that store can be overwhelming too. There is so much to choose!! Wish you could go shopping with me today.

We moved into our new house when I was 21 weeks pregnant too! Only it was my 3rd baby, and I had a 2 year-old and 1 year-old at home… It made the move very smooth for me indeed: no painting and no lifting! Someone had to stay home and watch the kids, right? 😉

Good for you for being able to say home with your son after his birth! After our 3rd, it was too much to juggle working opposite days with my husband (both nurses) so we worked it out so I can stay at home. It’s amazing… and some times it is downright horrible. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just outright lying. Some days you just want to get out of the house and away from your children – no matter how much you love them. It’s hard to never be able to “leave work.” But the rewards make it all worth it in the end – and that you can believe.

If you have the patience to sift through things, I definitely recommend thrift stores. I’m at 16 weeks, so I’m getting to that point where I need options!! I went this weekend and found some almost-brand-new name brand maternity tops, pants, a dress, and a skirt. (I took them home and washed them of course before trying them on) but I scored a total of 6 pieces for under $30!
