Top Concealers (for blemishes and under eye!)

It was a bit of an unusual week around here as David, my 7-year-old, had a minor outpatient procedure on Wednesday morning. This was planned, and even though we knew he needed it and the recovery was likely going to be pretty easy for him, it was still a little anxiety-inducing to wake up early Wednesday morning and know what lay ahead for him.

He was incredibly brave for doing something brand new in a hospital. The nurses and doctors were kind to him and made him feel really comfortable, which really touched my heart.

Beyond that, we had a nice week full of sunshine, playing outside, and getting ready for Justin’s birthday on Sunday!

Kate, from Naptime Kitchen, posted about these cloud-like sandals (like a croc / Birkenstock combo), and as it turns out she was totally right and they are my new go-to “play outside with the kids” shoe. And listen, initially, I thought these would be more of a “house” or “outside on my street” shoe but they are so dang comfortable that I could see them becoming a part of my regular rotation!

Kendi shared a round-up of her favorite shorts on this blog post. I always enjoy her detailed review of clothing items, along with her creative and sarcastic writing.

Caralyn also wrote a post all about shorts for summer here!

These salads look delicious!

And here are a few things I mentioned on Instagram Stories that you may have missed:

Spanx Leggings + Sports Bra – fantastic workout options for compression without being overly tight! These are both now a part of my regular rotation!

YSL Matte Lipstick in 109 – A favorite, easy-to-wear sheer matte lip color!

Dazzle Dry nail polish system – I am blown away by the results from this system. My first application gave me a full week of wear that I probably could have gone longer with but the tip wear was starting to bug me.

Sephora Spring Savings Event – see details below!

Pampered Chef Dry/Solid Measurer – I shared this on stories this week when I was making my mom’s homemade vegetable dip!

Outdoor Play Crate – did you catch my latest REEL all about my outdoor play crate?

Bright Pink Tunic T-shirt – such a fun find from Old Navy, that I picked up on a whim.

Calia by Carrie Underwood athletic tank – anytime I wear this I get tons of questions about it. It has a flattering cut by the arms and is cute with ribbed details. It’s fitted.

Target Athletic shorts – loved the stripes on these!

Questions from Monday’s Q&A Box on Instagram Stories!

Do you have a waterproof mascara that you love? Not really, I kind of hate waterproof mascara. If I know I’m going to be getting wet, I’ll just skip mascara altogether!

What is your favorite underwear to wear when working out on the Peloton? I am obsessed with my Chantelle high-rise briefs.

Just curious why you decided to homeschool Luke and send David to school? You can read more about that decision here!

If you had to go a year without wine or pizza, which would you choose? I would give up wine. Pizza is my very favorite.

Who has been coloring your hair? I’ve been to Jordan at Douglas Carol Salon in North Raleigh. His attention to detail is unmatched. He does a fantastic job!

Brow filler for little to no hair from Chemo? First, I’m sorry that you’ve had to endure that. I hope you are healthy now! Secondly, I like tiny pencils that can create realistic hair-like strokes. So, Anastasia Brow Wiz is my favorite. I also like a brow filler like Gimme Brow from Benefit!

Are your kids picky eaters? Yes, they are. I was a picky eater but I’ve grown out of most of that as an adult (there are still some foods I don’t have interest in though. . .) and Justin is a picky eater. As a picky eater trying to be better, I want my kids to be more flexible and open-minded with food. So, I’m working on trying to incorporate different flavors during meals a few times a week. Sometimes it’s easy, other times it’s a little bit more work, but I’m focused on making this a normal thing for them so they don’t become lifetime picky eaters.

Do you have a link to the white muscle tank you wore the other day? Maybe the day David had his surgery?

Would using lash primer keep my mascara, waterproof or otherwise, from leaking into my undereye area? It’s so frustrating to look so exhausted because of bleeding mascara.

Well, that is not good. Haha. I need something to hide this lower belly situation. I knew you recommended some and I was so hopeful. Guess the hunt is still on. Thanks for replying.
