DIY Wedding Makeup Tutorial

A summertime salad that I never get tired of is Caprese Salad. My mom introduced this salad to me years ago, and it is bursting with flavor. When I had my son Luke, my mom came and stayed with me and I have vivid memories of sitting on the couch, nursing my newborn, watching Fixer Upper while she prepped these salads for us.

The ingredients are romaine lettuce, red onion, fresh mozzarella (I love the Galbani brand), basil, and tomato. My favorite dressing to use is Marie’s Balsamic Vinaigrette (from someone who hates vinegar, this is a mild dressing). Then we always make a little crostini to add in at the last minute which is actual heaven when it’s still warm from being broiled.

It would be so easy to add grilled chicken breast or even steak to this salad for protein too.

Do you know what causes dehydrated skin?

A really cute straw bag for summer!

I’m loving this eyelet dress, but I wish it came in pink!

This looks like a great basic v-neck tank for summertime.

I shared a bit about my adjustment to well water in our new house, and some strategies for not letting it ruin my hair!

A cozy pajama set.

I love a casual sandal like this one ( I have the leopard print ) for throwing on with anything from jeans and a tank to a summer dress.

If Covid-19 has derailed your wedding plans, and perhaps made you cancel your makeup artist, I hope this tutorial helps!

Kate, can you please post the actual recipe for the Caprese Salad? I know you mention the individual ingredients, but I am much more likely to make a salad if I have a recipe to follow. It looks delicious!

I just throw all the ingredients together in a bowl, mix with dressing, and eat! It’s not much of a recipe 🙂

Wow Cayle . . . why would you post such a rude comment?

She was being honest. Stop judging others because they don’t conform with your truths! #BLM

Disappointed that your prejudice supporting lip color post was deleted after commenters on your Insta reminded you about it. No worries… I figured your white fragility would kick in and took all the screencaps this morning. Every word. Every comment. Every comment shaming WOC without you saying anything. #notyourtargetmarket

Ariel, I made the choice to revert that post to a draft because I’m not pleased with the message it sends. The intention was to focus on undertone of skin (pink undertones versus yellow undertones) more than skin color itself, but I have seen that message got lost (understandably) and my intention by reverting it to a draft is to return back to it and edit it. At this time, with Covid-19 preventing in person contact, I don’t know when I’m going to be able to edit it.
Could the post still have been helpful to some when considering their own undertone when choosing a bold lipstick color? Yes! It is more important to me, though, to revert it to a draft, expand on it with a greater variety of skin color, and only publish when I feel proud of it.
Tone isn’t well conveyed through text typed out in a comment, but your comment sounds threatening. I don’t know if you intend for it to or not, but that is how it’s landing on me.
I’m not hiding anything, I’m making adjustments.

Hi👋🏾

You could do a post on ART THERAPY. It has been a proven method of relaxing and meditation.

I am looking for people in the makeup/beauty/hair world that are in need of new and different content. I’m hoping to have my books reviewed.

My coloring books are fun & educational for makeup/hair/beauty lovers. Similar and familiar to makeup artists’ face charts or face charting.

I work As a freelance makeup artist in bridal and film and I used to be a makeup teacher. I would create pages and face charts for my students to practice on. Including makeup/anatomy to color theory And art techniques. That’s how the books were born.

I am looking for the right people to send a copies to review. I have two books available on amazon. The third comes out at the end of June.
Please visit the website for the book links.

Let me know if you are interested and have any questions.

Thank you in advance for your time.
