Lipstick is one of my favorite cosmetic products to play around with and I’m long overdue with an update about my favorites, from soft pinks to bright orange-y corals!

Soft Pinks

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Naked (pictured) – A nearly unbeatable classic pink

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Sheer in Morning After – The perfect cool pink

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Petal or Rose – Petal is a soft, nude pink and Rose is a darker tone but goes on very sheer

Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Pink Nude – A very comfortable and hydrating soft pink

BareMinerals GEN NUDE Liquid Lipstick in Infamous – A matte nude pink, perhaps a touch on the chalky side, sometimes feels dry so top it with a gloss

Sheer/Soft Colors

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Honey, Rose, Nude or really any color (Punch is pictured) – Extremely comfortable, sheer but buildable and comes in a variety of shades

NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm – Ultra-hydrating and leaves the prettiest wash of pink on the lips

Watermelon Pinks or Brighter Pinks

Burts Bee’s Lip Crayon in Niagara Overlook and Hawaiian Smolder (pictured) – Niagara Overlook is a warm pink and Hawaiian Smolder is a cooler more violet based pink

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Bloom or Tulip – Bloom is more mauve/pink and Tulip is more true bright pink

MAC Liptensity Lipstick in Medium Rare – A fun baby pink that is comfortable to wear

BITE Matte Cream Lip Crayon in Tatin – a bright, neutral pink that is long-lasting

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine – Cool pink, lasts a very long time, may feel a bit dry on the lips after a few hours

Bright Red or Orange

BITE Outburst Longwear Lip Stain in Strawberry Frozé or Orange Fizz (pictured) – Seriously intense pigment, lasts so long on the lips as it morphs into a stain over time

BITE Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Peche – If watermelon and peach were perfectly mixed together this would be the color, lasts forever

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Striking – bright watermelon red, long-lasting though a bit dry

While I’m chatting about lips, I have to mention my favorite overnight balms. I’ve used BITE Agave Lip Treatment for years and only recently added the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask into the mix to test it out. Both feel fantastic and are still on your lips when you wake up. The agave lip treatment is thicker, but not by much.

Hi Kate,

How does the Laneige sleeping mask compare to the BITE lip treatment? I used to use BITE products forever, but have since become pretty allergic to their products (which makes me want to cry because I LOVE BITE). I’ve been trying to find something that was as effective as the agave lip treatment used to be for me and I’m coming up short!

They are similar for sure! The BITE mask is thicker, but both are very hydrating!

All those colors were so cute and look so good on you! I typically find myself reaching for more of the mauve/Burgundy shades. Thanks for sharing, hope you are having a lovely day.

Hi Kate. In the ” watermelon/pinks” lipstick picture…which shade are you wearing? The Hawaiian and Niagra shade mixed together?
Thank you,
Karen

Hey there! Thank you for always sharing your finds! I have been looking at the watermelon color options you listed for a wedding and a few of them are no long available. Do you have any more you suggest that may be more recent?
