Eye Patch Masks: what they are and why I love them
links + loves
I’m wearing Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold Hydra-Gel Eye Patches (that came as a part of THIS set, such a good deal) and PIXI Vitamin C Caviar Balm.)
I love face masks. It’s one of my favorite things to do for myself in the evening after the kids go to bed. I love a face mask, but I hate a sheet mask. It always feels too cold, it doesn’t lay on my face right, and I feel like I need to lie horizontally in my bed to get the face mask to stay. I like to multitask when doing a mask so traditional “apply the product directly to your face and move on with your life” is more my speed.
By the way, go ahead and pick up one of these face mask brushes to up your face mask game by at least 10 points.
When it comes to eye masks, however, I love using an eye patch mask. They are typically sold in small pouches though I’m seeing them also sold in small containers with a little spatula to help lift one at a time. The patch itself if very soft and flexible, and product is on the side that presses down against your skin. It doesn’t slide off, it feels cooling in the right place on my face to help tighten that area, and in general I feel like I can really see a difference when I use them
I’ve tried a few recently that I wanted to share here!
One. Pixi DetoxifEYE Depuffing Eye Patches. These were sent to me as a part of a PR package with no strings attached. I was very excited to try them and I felt like they genuinely made my skin feel more firm in that area. I didn’t see a big difference in the de-puffing because I don’t struggle with that, but I liked how they made my eye skin feel so much I’ll continue to use them.
Two. Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold Hydra-Gel Eye Patches. These are crazy expensive but are very loved by many so I’m glad I got to give them a shot in this kit I found at Ulta! I used them once and found them to be very hydrating and firming!
I’ve used these Hydrogel Patches by Blaq that came in a FabFitFun box awhile back. I found them to be really comfortable and easy to wear, and they definitely hydrated my under eye!
Have you used an eye patch before? It feels so nice on that area of my face, and I’m sure if you are feeling puffy or are looking to kick up some moisture in that area that an eye patch mask would be perfect to try.

Do they help with dark circles under the eyes?
They claim to but really the best thing for dark circles is good concealer!
I agree about the concealer! I have been struggling with dark circles too and though I have had them my entire life, they haven’t bothered me until recently- I just turned 34. I have been making sure that I take my allergy medicication( Pollen is brutal in South Carolina) and I have been using arnica gel under my eyes. I think the arnica gel does improve the appearance of the dark circles and any puffiness that I have-though it doesn’t make it disappear. Be sure not to get it in your eyes. I also have been using ice on my under eyes and that seems to help some too. That all being said, it doesn’t last all day.
I adore eye masks! Discovered them many years ago when they were popular in Korea. They’re the best when I don’t want to do a full-on mask. 🙂

Wander Beauty’s Baggage Claim eye masks are good for tightening, brightening and de-puffing! They might be a good middle ground price-wise, coming in at 6 sets for $25 at Sephora–just my own experience as I’ve recently started getting into eye masks!
I have 3 eye masks from Wander Beauty from a boxycharm box that I’ve been saving for a special occasion so let’s they work as well as these did for you!

I totally love them too! Blaq are my fave. 🙂 BTW, I think you have them placed backwards. You can cover the inner eye area w/ the thin part just by flipping them around. 😉
Yes, you want the wider part out by where the crows feet come in!
I’m not sure, Kyly…I’ve seen them placed both ways!
Do you know of a product for puffy eyelids?
Sorry, didn’t mean to do this as a reply!
What about something for the eyelid? I’m starting to notice looser skin there. I’ve never done/looked at eye masks.
Great post! I also used the Blaq patches that came in the FabFitFun box. I really liked them. Those boxes are so awesome and well worth the money. I will definitely have to try out those other patches. Thanks for sharing.

I love the Blaq patches that came in the FFF box too!
Yes! I am loving the ones from Arbonne’s new young adult line!
I found these gold eye masks on Amazon. They work really well and are affordable! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07BQKZT6V?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_pd_title
I really like the Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels – you can get them at Ulta or Amazon. Not only do they work but they actually stick to your face so you can continue about your day while you’re letting them work. I find the ones with a more gel consistency tend to slide down my face if I do anything besides lie down. Pro Tip – and maybe someone’s already said this but I keep all my sheet and eye masks in the fridge for a little extra boost of cooling power.
Have you heard of Emily Skye ? She has eye masks that you may be interested in.
I love gel eye masks!!! Thank you for sharing these options. As an Arbonne consultant, I think the Arbonne Prepwork Gel Eyemasks are pretty amazing also. You should check them out!!!

Was just thinking this week that I would love a blog on your favorite face masks. I HATE the sheet ones also!! Would love to know what a few of your favorite masks are.
How do you know which the product is on?
I love eye patches!
