A Bronzed, Glowing Makeup Look with Sephora

You may or may not have seen “try ons” become a trend on Instagram stories amongst influencers. Basically, someone goes into a store and “tries on” different items and by doing so shares outfit ideas, etc.

As one that is always willing to try new things, I stopped by LOFT the other day do to my very first “try on” for Instagram Stories. And let me just say, it’s not in the cards for me. There were customers on either side of my dressing room and I felt way to sheepish to talk to my phone about whatever I was trying on. So I ended up miming the entire thing which was entertaining for me but probably not very helpful for those interested in watching a try on.

Anyway, I found this dress and was so pleased. Naturally, because I’m not a fashion blogger who is always in the know about new releases, by time I got it it only had a limited size run left. So, sorry about that. But I did find similar options if you are looking to add a stripe dress into your wardrobe this spring.

This is the dress I’m wearing in the photo.

Here is a very similar option that you could simply add a belt or a black fabric tie to! This is a cute option too if you like something more fitted around your lower half. And this looks like a perfectly flattering striped day dress.

I’m rounding up a few hair questions that I received from Instagram! If you’d like to submit a question, follow along by click here!

Hair Questions

Question: I’m a beginner at blow drying. Do you have any tips?

Answer: I actually have a tutorial you should watch! There are so many ways to blow dry your hair WRONG, but I offer a few tips to do it right in this tutorial!

Question: What is the best mask or treatment for dry, frizzy hair?

Answer: I love the Frizz line from Living Proof. I’ve been using their Frizz Nourishing hair oil for the past few weeks and really love how soft and smooth it makes my hair. The leave-on conditioner should help combat both of those problems you are having! This De-frizzer should help before and after styling as well!

Question: How can I help the baby hair around my hairline grow?

Answer: There really is very little you can do to help those areas OTHER than looking into vitamins to support hair health, and be extra gentle on those areas so you don’t cause breakage.

These rattan earrings from amazon just scream summer to me. When I bought these I also bought 2 acrylic options, a light/white shade and a darker tortoiseshell pair too!

This looks like such a pretty palette from Becca.

Pretty gold watch for a great price.

Did you catch my makeup tutorial from yesterday?

Have a lovely weekend!

I’m not sure if I can submit a hair questions here, but I have one about my daughter’s hair. She is 4 years old and I’ve only gotten her hair cute one time 😬 I don’t want to cut all of her curls off. BUT I also don’t know how to take care of her curls. I have straight, flat hair that I don’t have to brush if I don’t want to. Her hair is always knotty and dry looking and she hates when I brush her hair because it’s so full of tangled. So my question is how do you take care of a child’s curls? I would be so grateful for any help.

I’d look into a leave in conditioner that you can spray in before you brush through it. Curly hair is more fragile so that can help maintain the curls!

As someone who was once that little curly girl with a bewildered mom, the key has been leave-in conditioner and a wide tooth comb. Combing through with the leave-in when wet will be easier (and less painful) than brushing dry hair, plus less frizz! Good luck 🙂

Hi, thanks for all the great content. Could you please, please talk about hair color, highlights, color at home, etc? I am going Grey and NO STYLIST has ever been able to produce a butter/honey color. I can do it at home from a box, but the stylists say this is so bad for my hair. Can you help? I need HELP! 💇🏼‍♀️

Ally,
I have a daughter with the same issues – It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product; spray it in after washing and I can get through her hair with ease. Recommended by both the great Kate (for adults) and a family-friend hair stylist that also uses it on herself and her young daughter. Hope it helps!

I need to try the Frizz line from Living Proof asap! The humidity in Hong Kong’s no joke and my hair’s been crazy since the weather’s turned warmed…

I love that dress! I have a weakness for blue and white stripes so this was an instant thumbs up from me.

That’s a really pretty dress. I’d feel awkward too if I were to do those try ons, I’m so self-conscious about that kind of stuff. Have a good weekend!

How do you get your curls to stay curled? Mine go limp. I have tried letting them cool before touching them, used flexible hairspray before curling, used texture spray. Nothing is helping. Help!

Have you tried a setting spray before, like this one by KEnra! https://rstyle.me/+GU7mF4TUBAZfiIHfbe5Uzw

I have another hair question regarding baby hairs:

How do I know if what I’m seeing is breakage or new growth? I have recently noticed A LOT more little hairs around my face, at the nape of my neck, and along my part.

I asked my stylist about them and she looked but said basically the only way to tell if it’s breakage or growth is to see if it keeps getting longer or not. I feel like I am already pretty gentle on my hair but am not sure if I should be making more efforts to be gentle or just let the hairs grow. Any advice?

Disclaimer: I know it’s probably impossible for anyone to say definitively, especially since you can’t see it in person, but you are my hair goddess and I am struggling!! Lol okloveyoubye.
