Fall shoes that are not ankle booties

A reader asked for a few options of fall shoes that aren’t ankle booties because they aren’t her thing and I thought I’d round up a few non-bootie options if you feel the same way! Personally I love an ankle boot but there are also so many great flats that can either be casual or super chic as an alternative for fall footwear!

I get the most wear out of casual slip ons, like these! They help make a casual outfit a bit more pulled together than simply throwing on sneakers. For work wear, or a slightly more dressy option, there are so many low heeled flats that are versatile!

Can you tell us anything about the comfort of these shoes? Have you personally worn ANY of them besides the slip on sneaks?

I have no. 9, Dr Scholls. They are so comfortable and give great cushioning under the heel, which is a necessity in my choice of shoe. Good choice for a wider foot and can easily be worn with lightweight socks.

I’ve worn #4 and #9. Both were comfortable to me!

I’ve work 9 (dr scholls) slip on and have had them for a couple years. They are comfortable for short amounts of time or times where you won’t be doing a lot of walking. But I would actually say the vans lightweight slip one are more comfortable as a whole.

Target has some really comfortable Mossimo & Co. slip-ons available in difference colors (tan, black, white, rose gold, olive green). I’ve got them in three colors and have been living in them just about all summer!

I actually like a lot of the styles you picked out! I love a good pair of ankle booties, but flats and canvas shoes are more my thing. Cute! Especially the tan-coloured ones! 🙂

I love Dr. Scholl’s shoes! I have a 15 minute walk to work from the train station and love the support these shoes provide. They’re pretty cute too!

I’ve been looking for slip ons like these! I love how you still look put together, but can be super comfy!

Do you have any tips for keeping the light colored suede slip ons clean? A friend has a pair of the Dr. Scholl’s slip ons and has had the hardest time keeping them clean.

My personal favorite has been the Ked’s crashback leather slip ons. I have them in Cognac (really pretty) and black, and have worn them for a couple of years. They are super comfortable!

What shoes do you typically wear around New York? I’m going to D.C. at the end of October and don’t want to wear the same tennis shoes I wear to the gym. (Because style) We’ll still be wearing flip flops down here in Florida so I need some suggestions for good walking shoes!

Thanks for these great suggestions. Do you have tips on how to wear ankle booties to work? Instead of just with jeans? I’m trying to buy fall/winter wardrobe for work and want to be able to wear my ankle booties to work but not sure which pants to get that will go for work and with ankle booties. Any tips?
