My favorite new tool for picking out an outfit

This post was sponsored by Amazon, all opinions are my own.Ā

If you were to ask my sister what kind of photos she receives from me the most, she’d likely tell you that she gets bombarded with outfit photos of me standing in my bathroom on one leg, balancing my other leg on the counter, and making a ridiculous face in the mirror. I have to throw my leg up to show her my shoe option, of course.

When I’m struggling with an outfit decision, whether it’s dressing up for date night or finding something casual to wear during a work day, I like asking for my sister’s opinion. It’s helpful to have the input of someone who has a similar style and also will tell you the truth!

And the times that she isn’t immediately available for me, I blow up her phone with text messages asking her what she could possibly be doing that is more important than giving me input on what sweater to wear with a certain pair of jeans. It’s what being a big sister is all about, you know what I mean?

I stumbled across the Echo Look months ago and clicked around to get some more information. I thought it was such a great idea, and I wanted to try it. To my pleasant surprise, I did get a chance to give it a try and it’s even better than I thought it was going to be.

The Echo Look is a hands-free camera that utilizes just your voice to take a photo of your outfit. The images are really great, even my photographer was impressed with the quality and lighting you get with the Echo Look. Not only is this helpful to see what your outfit looks like from Ā a more realistic perspective than just looking in the mirror, but the app also has a great feature called Style Check that lets you compare two photos to see which looks better. A combination of artificial intelligence and stylists will rate each look with a percentage and explain why one looks better than the other.

I love the Style Check feature! Not only is it fun to compare and see which outfit wins, but it’s helpful to look at two outfits side by side. The photos are saved under a section called “My Looks,” so you can refer back to them if you are ever looking for something to wear.

Beyond simply documenting and comparing two outfits, it also makes it really easy to take outfit photos to share on social media. I typically shoot my own images and trying to hide my remote shutter release is a challenge. Honestly, I’m usually throwing it out of the frame in the 2 seconds my camera gives me to get ready. My cats love this game because they always try to go find it, typically batting it under a cabinet, which quickly makes it my least favorite game.

And as much as an phone selfie in a mirror can get the job done, the quality of the images from Echo Look, along with there not being anything else distracting in the frame, makes it pretty much the perfect device for outfit photos.

I can honestly say that I’ve had so much fun using this tool, and it really is helpful in deciding what to wear. You can find out more and request an invite by clicking here!

Echo Look sounds like a super smart device. It’d be nice to have a helper for my indecisive thoughts every morning before work!

This reminds me of Cher from the movie Clueless relying on her Polaroids instead of the mirror!! So fun!!!

What a cool little camera!
I find myself thinking I look “ok” in the mirror, but then when I see a picture of myself in the outfit…I’m like Oh no way, or Oh yeah!
Thank you for your blog and youtube…I’ve been enjoying you for quite some time now šŸ™‚

Question:
I used to blog a little but not much anymore (and was more general lifestyle, not much fashion/beauty), don’t really do IG stories (I watch, just don’t do any myself), don’t really ask fashion opinions from other people much. But you are a great advertiser and, for some reason, even though I really don’t need this, you have convinced me that I want it. Lol. I requested the invite and got it and am now deciding whether or not to fork over the $ for something I don’t really need. Advice?

What is the trick to sharing EchoLook photos on social media? I just got the Echo Look and when I put the photo into Instagram it either cuts off my head or my feet. Thanks for your help!
