In the spirit of FULL disclosure, I need to tell you that a sentence that just ran through my head upon starting the copy in this post was,”I really like small things.”

You heard it here first, folks, and that’s kind of why I named my blog what I did back in the day. I like little extras, and details that make something a little extra special. So I curated this gift guide to give you ideas for small extras or add-ons to an existing gift. They are also 100% worthy of being a gift by themselves, which is what really makes this list versatile!

And to be honest, I see all these gift guides full of dresses and coats and sweaters and leather jackets and that is so not how I roll. My mom, sister, and I usually have some kind of variety basket gift that we give each other, full of small but special things!

My favorite little addition to a gift, especially a gift card, is food. Pretzels or chocolate, or even chocolate covered pretzels for crying out loud. Do you know why? Who doesn’t like getting a little treat as a gift? You can’t go wrong with that! It’s a perfect teacher gift, or a good “neutral/I didn’t try too hard just in case you didn’t get me anything in return/I owe you for getting my something last year/I really don’t know what on earth to buy you” gift.

Another great “add on” gift idea is to place the main gift in a tote bag! It functions as the “wrapping” but is also another gift!

If I had to choose the ultimate winner from this list, it would have to be those pretty glass shadow boxes. There are infinite amount of uses for them, and it’s special and delicate without being over the top, you know?

Happy shopping! Are you still in the thick of it? My brain is complete mush, so much so that I swore I bought one particular gift already, but I hid it so well that I can’t find it, and I’m now wondering if I did, in fact, buy it in the first place. It’s a problem guys. December has been nuts!

Hope it’s going smoother for you! I have another gift guide tomorrow, that sort of doubles as a review of a bunch of my MOST used products!

I’m hoping after my trip to the mall today, that all of my shopping will be fully and finally done. I don’t think I can do anymore after today. lol

I love the candle that you added in here, though. I always love to get a candle in a gift basket. Of course I have a candle addiction anyway, but that’s not the subject right now.

I’ve always believed the best gifts come in small boxes (especially Tiffany blue ones!)

Maybe it’s just me but number 8 doesn’t link to the actual scarf on the Zara site, just the general homepage for Zara, would love to get it for a friend, I couldn’t find it on the Zara site either 🙁

I feel like you could have rocked the title “I like small things and I cannot lie” throwing it back to ’92 hahah

I like getting a bag of small goodies too! However I wouldn’t mind the bigger stuff too. I guess it’s just about variety. No matter which way you go though I think adding in chocolate covered pretzels is an excellent idea!
