Cubicle Convos, Round Three

next
Top 4 Foundations ( at the moment )

I’ve got some random thoughts to share with you, and so it was time for another cubicle conversation video! From pore scrubbers to a spring activity I’m loving, there is really no other way to describe this video other than random!

If you missed the first two, check them out here & here!

A few things mentioned in this edition:

I’m wearing Marc Jacobs lipstick in Jolly Molly. // I picked up a pore scrubber to try. (similar) // Current favorite Starbucks drinks: Iced coffee + 1 pump of vanilla + half-n-half/whole milk OR Flat white + 1 pump of classic OR Iced Americano (although I won’t be getting the decaf at night again…) // Our beloved playset from Costco // Bike trailer – Thule Chariot Bike Trailer

Can we talk about this flat white business? I have NEVER heard of such a thing! And my love for the coffee runs deep. And what is classic syrup? Is it like simple syrup? Like just sweet but not a flavor? Please enlighten me!

Reply
Tammy says · 04.20.16

Yes please ! I get the flat white often but not sure what classic syrup is ??? I’ve never heard of classic syrup.

Reply
Kate says · 04.20.16

It’s just liquid sugar. granulated sugar in a cold drink doesn’t dissolve well, so “classic” is often used in place of that

Jaclyn EC says · 04.20.16

Nicole girl I have the same Qs

Reply
Cynthia says · 04.20.16

From what I can tell from enjoying several flat whites, is that it’s the milk texture of the drink.

Cappuccinos are supposed to be mostly foam, lattes are mostly milky with a layer of foam on top and flat whites are mostly creamy milk (like milk with small, velvety bubbles).

To me, it’s a much smoother drink than a latte. It preserves the espresso taste.

Cynthia says · 04.20.16

Also, classic syrup is just a sugar syrup. It’s almost like putting sugar in your coffee.

The scrubbers are disappointing. They are too soft. I feel they do nothing. Put the clarisonic back in your shower.

Cynthia says · 04.20.16

From what I can remember from being a Starbucks barista 7 years ago, you should order your drink like this:

Iced, tall, 1 pump vanilla, with room, latte

Also, decaf does have caffeine in it, just not as much. It’s small amounts, but it’s still there.

Reply
Kate says · 04.20.16

cool thanks! but it’s iced coffee, not a latte!

I’ve been biking with my 12-year-old and only part of our route is on an actual trail. I didn’t think about the whole texting and driving thing, so now I’m more than concerned and paranoid! :0

Hold the phone, you can get a decaf americano?! How did I not know this. Can you get any of their espresso drinks in decaf? I’ve had to cut down so I’ve just been stuck with a chai tea latte.

The lipstick looks amazing on you!!

My 2 year old son LOVES being on our bike. I’m not very good on the bike so I actually have a grandma trike. Yay for not tipping over! We live in an urban area and bike on the local riverwalk (so no cars) to parks a lot. It is by far my son’s favorite thing to do.

I love these cubicle convos! I work from home also and the one thing I really miss is chit chatting with my co workers over everyday things! Anyway, I am very curious about your thoughts on those facial scrubbers. Right now my go to exfoliant is witch hazel and an exfoliating round cotton pad. It works great and helps take away the redness. And hello, $1.50 a bottle! I also found “through Pinterest”. That aloe Vera gel works wonders for blemishes. That good old green stuff you use on sunburns. Slap it on at night and the blemish is practically dried up in the morning! And have you used any of the philosophy facial cleaners? I am currently using purity and think it is great.

When you first stated that you needed to fix your toilet, I thought “wow, she can fix her own toilet?” Lol …anyway…LOOOOVE these CC videos. So stinkin fun and light hearted. You are adorable. And I just love when your kitties make an appearance. I’m glad he didn’t knock over your coffees . (I noticed coffee was plural!) We are finally warming up here in New Hampshire! Today will be in the 70s! Have a great spring day!

Oh I love watching your cubicle convos because your so funny. I’m also a mum of two young boys so I wait until they are in bed and the first thing I do is check your website for new videos. I need to get my femininity on as I’m totally surrounded by boys here (I also have two male dogs) so I’m totally outnumbered.

Reply
Sarah says · 04.21.16

I bought the face scrubbies, they’re great and they’re nice for cleaning your brushes too! I’ve used them for both. When I wash my face with them, I wash all over and using a light hand just feels so nice, it’s like a little face massage, kind of like when someone else is washing your hair. I enjoy it, I hope you do too.

These are my favorite videos. So so “you”.

Love that lip color on you. Can you even picture it on me? Death. I’m still hoarding the last tiny bit of the Lipstick Queen one from J Crew you got me hooked on years ago. It’s my all time favorite color/formula.

Starbucks. When I ordered my favorite summer drink the other day, the barista told me next time I should get a “iced coffee with half and half instead of water with vanilla or classic syrup”. Oy, yum! I can’t really handle sweet in my coffee but that sounds like yummy dessert.

Our area just isn’t made for biking on the street. There is nothing “bicycle friendly” about this area. Colorado? The bike lanes are almost as wide as the car lanes. It’s so delightful AND bicycles have the right of way. I’ll bike with you any time! I love the Tobacco Trail but that’s not road bike friendly for you. 🙁

Delia says · 04.21.16

Love these cubicle convos 🙂 You made me laugh when your hair was in your face. I can relate with the coffee – if I drink it past about 3 p.m., I think I feel fine when I go to bed, but then I can’t sleep and my heart feels like it’s racing. I definitely avoid that now that I’ve learned the hard way a few times.

Love the Cubicle Convos! My go-to Starbucks drink in the spring/summer is an iced (grande, always) Americano, extra ice, light water. Sometimes the barista looks at me funny but they usually get it right. I find their Americanos too watery if I don’t order that way. Then I add half and half and raw sugar (I like to crunch on the sugar crystals.)

Reply
Lisa says · 04.30.16

I simply love these convos, Kate! That lip colour is stunning on you! I’m also not a coffee drinker (tea is my thang), so my go-to drink at Starbucks is a Grande Earl Grey Tea Latte (it’s sweetened with vanilla). It’s so good!
