Anna’s Curls
Just In Case
Isn’t Anna just beautiful? She’s a dear friend of mine and I recently spent some time with her in order to help her correct a curling issue she was having.
Her hair texture is smooth, silky, and shiny. Her curls tend to “fall” toward the bottoms of her hair and they all blend together into one large curl.
I watched her curl one piece of her hair so I could see what she was doing, and immediately I knew how to help! Watch the video below to see how to avoid one of the most common hair curling mistakes.
( I used the T3 curling iron with the 1.25 attachment )
Thank you to Anna for being a part of this video!

Great tutorial! Where is your dress from?
2nd! Where is that dress from? 🙂 So flattering!
SO helpful! My hair is much the same, definitely going to try this tomorrow! Thanks, Kate!
What size barrel did you use? Love the natural look of her makeup too
My issue is curling my weak side so to say. I’m left handed, so curling my right side always looks different. Any help with how to hold the curling iron?
What a beautiful model!! Her hair looked great!
You own so many different curling irons and it makes me want them all! How do you decide which one to use, especially on your own hair? I just returned the Ghd. Didn’t think I needed a $200 curling iron. I have a hot tools, babyliss and a nume wand.
Love this video! So helpful!
What a beautiful girl! —Dad 🙂
She really is!!!
That is EXACTLY my hair problems! Thank you so much for the tutorial!

Thank you for this tutorial. My daughter’s hair is the same texture. She’s always so sad that she can’t have beautiful curls like her big sister. We’ll try this soon!

http://bit.ly/1S7FFqp .. how to clean your makeup brushes!
Really cool to see other hair types in tutorials. You’re blessed with some great hair, but it can be really frustrating to recreate your beautiful styles on less cooperative hair! Thanks!
Tried this this morning and it totally worked!! Thanks for the post!
Oh my gosh this is SO helpful! I have the same problems that Anna does. Thanks for sharing how to fix these mistakes!!
very beautiful young lady!
This was so very helpful! I just love your blog. It’s so helpful to see you doing someone else’s hair. My hair is a lot like Anna’s (even falling in my face all.day.long) and I think these tips will help my curling skills.
Articulate & informative your videos are enjoyable to watch. My hair is thin & silky ~ thanks for a tutorial addressing those issues. I usually just flip and clip because it isn’t worth the effort and time spent when it just falls out in a few hours. Interested enough to try your technique. Any tips on growing out bobs/lobs?
Great video Kate! Short, simple and I learned something! Thank you!
This was such a great tutorial. I’m often curling my hair quickly before running out the door and don’t pay enough attention to the angle at which I’m holding the barrel – great tips. Thanks, Kate!

This was a really awesome post. More like this style/format would be so helpful!
Probably your most helpful tutorial yet for me!! This is totally my problem and I had no clue about what I could do to gel it. Thanks!!
She’s so pretty! Did yall coordinate outfits on purpose? 🙂
This was so helpful! I love your hair tutorials but struggle to get the same effect because my hair is a completely different texture. I would love to see more of these! Thank you for sharing!
This is EXACTLY what happens to me! THANK YOU FOR THIS!! 🙂
The still of that video is hilarious! Death-stare Anna. Oh, I love you, girl!
(I’m not a mean commenter, y’all. I’ve known Anna since she was 2 years old.)
Kate, where did you get that dress you were wearing (black/white stripe)? It is so pretty. Just what I am looking for. Thanks.
Kate, can you do a curling tutorial on someone that has thick, curly hair, but has the same problem? My curls fall to the bottom and also bunch together as well. This would be so helpful!

I have the same hair type as Anna. I am also someone who plays with their hair constantly so I’m not a huge fan of using products that will make my hair feel stiff or rough. Will this tutorial help me with the same issue if I don’t use the products?
That has definitely been a major problem j have been fighting. Thank you so much for the post!
