Charleston for the Weekend!

I was in Charleston for the weekend! The last time I was here was on my honeymoon back in 2009 and it’s just as charming as it was then, just without the fresh husband.

Not that Justin is stale or anything, but honeymoons are special!

I came for two reasons, 1. to attend Creative at Heart conference and 2. to host 3 hair classes! It was my first time at the conference, and despite being heavy on the wedding photographer + wedding planning side, there was some really great content shared!

The hair classes were so much fun, as they always are. I wish I had 7 hours with each class so I could really take the time to go through every single thing I can possibly teach about the subject of the class.

It’s always nice to be surrounded with like-minded creative women. There is a common thread that runs through everyone at the conference, no matter what industry you are in. Being a blogger is pretty different than owning a shop, but we are all put on a somewhat level playing field at a conference and it’s great to share our successes and tips, as well as the things that didn’t work so well in our business.

The boys hung with Justin and my parents over the weekend. We originally thought Justin would be out of town for work, but as it turns out he wasn’t, so the three of them tag teamed David and Luke. My mom sent a bunch of photos while I was gone and she had Luke in the Lille baby wrap every day! It was so cute to see her wearing Luke on her back like I do! He loves it back there so I’m glad she was able to do that for him!

David and my dad played with every single car and truck that David owns, so he was in pure heaven.

So I’m back home, which is so nice, and need to get caught up on all the work I left behind for the weekend. I have a handful of tutorials in the queue and even more gift guides to make your shopping a little easier!

Love Charleston! We live outside Manhattan but vacation in Hilton Head every summer, and always make sure to stop in Charleston. Such charm to the city, plus really good restaurants and shopping. Glad you enjoyed your trip and your boys were in good hands!

Charleston is wonderful! My husband and I went there last year for our 10-year anniversary (10th “honeymoon”) and loved it. It’s a foodie destination with architectural charm and so much history! The local beer is great, too. It was perfect. If you ever have another class there, I would try to make it.

My partner and I are heading to Charleston this winter for our 11 year anniversary. We are really looking forward to the food. Do you have any must go to restaurants or activities?

Ooh yay, I love gift guides! Even though I’ve already bought everything for this year 😀 I thought it would be hard to shop due to limited time being in grad school, but I got too excited and already got everything, haha.
