Another month, another round up of favorite beauty products!

That Stress Relief body wash + body lotion? Smells like Eucalyptus HEAVEN. Oh and just because that Stila liquid lipstick is pictured, doesn’t mean it’s a favorite. I just happened to try it right before the video and I couldn’t get it off. I actually think is a BIT too bold for my taste, and it was a little bit on the dry end of the spectrum.

Anyway! Products mentioned:

Tarte Showstopper palette

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation

Tarte skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof liner in moonstone brown

Tarte lights, camera, lashes close up lash liner

Bath and Body Works Stress Relief body wash and body lotion

Mai Couture makeup papers

Hourglass Arch brow pencil in blonde

Redken Aerate 08

Redken Braid Aid 03

My top is from Loft, and my necklace is from Elisabeth Ashlie Jewelry.

Are you wearing the blush from the showstopper palette? Your blush looks amazing in this video!

I know that you have mentioned using Arbonne foundation, and it’s what has helped clear up your skin. Can you tell me what shade you buy it in? Your skin always looks so great!

First of all, I LOVE your earrings. Where are they from?
Secondly, your hair has been on-point lately!
Lastly, welcome back! I feel like you we lost you for a while after your second baby. But I think you’re doing an amazing job at posting more regularly, especially beauty and hair posts. So, thank you for listening to your fans 🙂

I just love watching your videos. I feel like the whole time i’m watching, i’m smiling at you like we’re carrying on a conversation. I actually like this lipstick on you, great for a date night where you don’t want to re-apply all night.

You make me smile. This was a good start to my Monday morning – while drinking my coffee before my little guy gets up. Thanks for making me feel like I just had a fun chat with a friend!

The lip color looks beautiful on you! I too received that in my birchbox, and was like, whoa! Didn’t look as complimentary on me! 🙂

Great video! Did you say you filmed a tutorial for the showstopper palette? I was on the fence about it and wanted to see how you used it but had no luck finding one on your blog.

I’d love to hear your opinion on the new products specifically designed for air drying your hair. The Bumble & Bumble Don’t Blow It (H)air Styler and John Frieda Frizz Ease Air-Dry Waves are two new hair products I’m interested in. Summertime means a little easier styling for me and these products were in InStyle recently as game changers for the air-dried hair trend. I’d LOVE to see how you’d use them for the best results!

I love the BBW Eucalyptus Spearmint stress stuff. We have the candle of it in our bedroom and have it on before we go to bed. That line is so great. 🙂

I got lash extensions done for my wedding last Fall and did love them – lots of upkeep though. Taking off your eyeliner was a pain, since you have to use non-oil eye make-up remover and getting what I used off was annoying – Almay makes the q-tip design, which did help some. Once I got them done, I went in for the re-fill every 2 weeks (started in August, my wedding was in October). I continued them a month after my wedding, but unfortunately had an allergic reaction to them (thankfully NOT for my wedding), so I stopped and let them fall out naturally. I don’t know what happened to cause the reaction, but it wasn’t good and would, luckily, happen only on the weekend. My eyelids would swell and I felt like I had the worst cold ever. I went in and got an allergy shot, which helped, since they didn’t know what was really causing it, but my hubby said it was probably the lashes.

I think your lipstick looks fabulous. I would wear it often if it looked that good on me. And your video was really hard to hear. I love your videos and I know you work really hard on them, but if there is any way to make them louder I would love them even more. 🙂

Katie Lyn says · 08.03.15

Hi Kate, While you might not think the lipstick is your thing, it looks great on you! Definitely a bit bold, but clearly your color and one for if you were going out for a night or something, I would think. That being said, I personally hate drying lipsticks, so I can see how you wouldn’t want to wear it much.

I’m always on the lookout for fresh eucalyptus type lotions as well, so thank you for the review.

1. Oh my word, you are the only, like *only* person I’ve seen totally rock that Stila liquid lipstick sample! I can’t count the conversations I’ve had about how awful it was (I got the pink), but you look amazing. Looks terrific with your hair/shirt.
2. I had 2 good friends get lash extensions (at 2 different not cheap places) and I thought they looked great, but both respectively complained they felt like their eyelids were heavy, and like they got in the way when they washed their faces. Strange, but thought I’d share what feedback I know!

Great video!!

I just love your monthly favs videos.

How about sometime, a post on how you keep all your makeup and hair “stuff” (by stuff I mean products and tools) organized. I’m always looking for tips to organize in my small bathroom.

I love the eucalyptus and spearmint from BBW, and it does come in a lotion!! I love it when they have them on sale, you can get them for like 5 bucks!

As an eye doctor, I thought I would chime in on the lash extensions. They look… nasty icky gross yuck under the microscope. The stuff that builds up between the extension and the base of your lashes (because as close as you think they are to the base of your eyelashes, there is a space) is pretty much impossible to remove. Think dandruff mixed with eye makeup and clumps of glue. They look fabulous, but the thought of that gunk on my eyes is just too gross for me to seriously consider them.

I got the same Stila lipstick in my box as well. First off, it looks awesome on you, but like you I think it is too bold for my taste. I have tried it a couple of ways, and found just using my finger or a small precision brush puts just enough color for it to stain and stay on all day. Love your blog!

Gturn62 says · 08.03.15

Kate, that lipstick looks GREAT on you. Not too bold at all. I got one in my Birchbox as well (a different color), and thought the same thing—that it was too bold. I may go back and try it again now that I’ve seen you rock it. And, FYI: I agree with the other person who commented that they had trouble hearing you on this video. I’ve never had that problem before, so I don’t know if you just weren’t close enough to the microphone or you weren’t speaking as loudly, but I turned the volume as high as it would go, and was still straining to hear you.

I think that the lipstick looks great on you, Kate.

I would love a tutorial sometime where you show how you do your blush. Sounds simple, but I can never get mine to look as great as yours does.

Kate, I am loving Redken Guts. I think you’ll like it too. It cuts my dry time in 1/2 and gives my roots a lift. Better than aquage (sp). I’ve also found that I’m in LOVE with dry shampoo. My fav is Amika, followed by Tony and Guy (Cheap at Target). I also love the redken pillow proof. Might be good for you since you wash your hair at night. Just some thoughts…

Okay two things from this video: I am thisssss close to trying that Tarte foundation but I e been dealing with glorious adult acne so I’m needing fuller coverage. Second thing, the “out takes” in the end is hilarious! I really feel like we’re just a couple of girlfriends chatting about makeup and shampoo when I watch these videos. Keep up the good work!

I have the Tarte rain forest after dark palette. Love it so much! All of the colors work well with my brown hair and brown eyes, even though my complexion is porcelain. The quality of tarte’s products is almost incomparable! Thanks for sharing all your wisdom. 😉

Hi Kate, I have taken many of your recommendations and bought products that I love!!! I use Aquage Uplifting Foam and Kendra Super Hold Finishing Spray (25) and buy both in bulk. A few years ago, you cut some bangs, so I cut bangs. That lead to my getting my long hair cut short and in layers. I’m loving it. I have thick, fine, blonde hair. In this summer heat and humidity (I live in Greenville, SC), my hair tends to go flat. Any suggestions as to what I could use on these hot, humid days. Right now, I’m using a little Aquage and the Kendra spray, but I have Fibromyalgia and perspire heavily from my head. Eventually, I have to comb through my hair when it gets too damp. I’m assuming I may just have to stay inside during these hot and humid days. Your babies are beautiful!!

Great post! I have the tarte amazonian clay foundation and love it for summer- great coverage for a powder and perfect for summer. The B&BW eucalyptus mint is my favorite scent- I love the candles and burn them year round. I got the stila lip color in my BB – ugh too bright for me but you look amazing. There is an online tutorial for it which basically says use a heavy lip moisturizer first. My 9 year old put it on (she loves BIrchbox day)
and boy was it hard to get off!

I absolutely LOVE Bath and Body Works Eucalyptus Stress Relief body wash! I have been using it for a few years now, my boyfriend is addicted to it too haha. The smell alone is enough to help me unwind. You should also try their Energy body lotion. It has a refreshing citrus scent that really wakes me up and makes me feel fresh and vibrant!
