Sepia, Moonglow and Metallic Umber

The most used piece of baby gear

FOTD-3

I tried a new combo of liners and love the result. I finished with a peachy kick on my lips and cheeks.

FOTD-2

Products pictured: Pixi Endless Silky Eye Intensity Duo, Stila Smudge Stick in Metallic Umber, Mac Paint Pot in Tailor Grey, Mac Sheen Supreme in Fashion City, Tarte Lights,Camera, Lashes in black. (not pictured, Cargo blush in Cannes)

FOTD-1

Simple Steps:

1. Using your finger, apply Mac’s Paint Pot in Tailor Grey all over the lid (you can really see how much lighter this wears versus the color shown in the pot!)

2. Line upper lash line with Pixi liner using the chocolate brown end.

3. Line lower lash line with Pixi liner using the Sepia end.

4. Apply a few coats of mascara on your upper and lower lashes

5. If you want a little bit more intensity in your eyes, line your upper waterline with Stila smudge stick in Metallic Umber.

6. Finish with a dusting of a peachy blush that you love, for me that’s Cargo blush in Cannes OR tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in Captivating.

7. And lastly, apply Mac’s Sheen Supreme lipstick in Fashion City on your lips! An alternative dupe, thats a little bit pinker is Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel in Barely Bloomed.

I love this! Such a clean, fresh look – but changing it up from the typical pink cheeks/lips. I will definitely be trying this! Thanks Kate!

Curious what you thought of the Tarte mascara. I only buy products that are not tested on animals, which limits my makeup options considerably! Since Tarte doesn’t do animal testing, they are my go-to for makeup staples and I’m generally in love with all of their products. Still…. I absolutely hated this mascara because it was so clumpy and difficult to apply. (I also disliked the clunky packaging, since I tend to prefer a clean, minimalist look)

Other great brands not tested on animals are Urban Decay, Chantecaille (I swear by their foundation!), and Trish McEvoy. Between these three companies and Tarte I can find anything I need (and usually more. . . .), but I’m still searching for the perfect mascara!

I have Barely Bloomed and LOVE it! It’s a lot more nude than the Fashion City but still such a pretty peachy colour.

Oh, Kate, how I wish you could do a makeover on me! You always look so pretty. (And I’d need my hair done, too, obviously… ha.)
Have a great rest of your week!

I love this look. I really appreciate the tutorials you do, because I also have very pale and cool toned skin (with dark circles!) and have always been afraid of makeup. You have really helped me become more comfortable with what products to buy, colors and techniques to use, etc.

I do have an unrelated question after watching your video on salon etiquette. I used to go to the most high end salons in my area, thinking that they would make my funky hair look the best. However, they always felt the need to do what was “in style” and change my look all the time, despite the fact that the cuts didn’t look good on me and I got nothing but negative feedback on them. Aside from that, they never put the right products in to make my hair presentable when walking out. Sooo…I started going to a certain dept store to get my hair cut. Yeah I did. Because consistency. Only thing is, they also don’t know how to style or put product in my funky hair to make it look good…so I opt for the cut/no style option. That means I leave the place without my hair combed out and soaking wet…even if it is 10 degrees. Due to that fact, I usually never tip more than 15%, unless I haven’t been in a long time. One time recently, the appts were close together, and I didn’t have much money so I tipped 10%. The stylist was very angry with this. But honestly, even she doesn’t cut my hair so lays right much of the time and I was going to a wedding and would have to spend $50 at a high end salon to get it done so it looked good in my “dress up” clothes. I was probably wrong, right? Because she probably makes next to nothing working there and I DO have quite a bit of hair. And yeah, I should probably keep searching for a new salon/hairdresser…

Kate, I think this is my favorite look on you! The peachy blush and lips make your blue eyes stand out even more than usual. You’ve also been craving that “fresh” look all season and this is such a great way to do that. Knowing that this post was mostly supposed to be about the combo of eyeliners to achieve a particular look… I actually enjoyed the peachy blush and lips the most!

Do you suggest any nail polish that is similar to the lip color?

Does anyone know of a dupe for the Cargo Cannes blush? Its back ordered everywhere until mid June! I’m going on vacation on 06/04/2014 to Sweden and Rome and would really like to have a nice neutral blush like Cannes to take with me! Any ideas for dupes or something close in color (even if its not a dupe) would be greatly appreciated!

Bought “Cannes” this morning on DermStore, with free shipping! Also used the code SPRING from RetailMeNot for a 20% discount! Nordstrom won’t have it in until mid-June.

I’m not a huge lipstick person, but I love that color on you! I like to use lip stains, so maybe I will look for a peachy tone lip stain for my next purchase!

Love this but I’m a little confused about the Pixi liner. The duo pixie liner comes in sepia/moonglow. Which one has the brown?
Thanks
