Miracle Sleeping Cream

tarte’s Beauty in the Basics kit (available today only!!)
Sleep. It is suddenly a hot commodity as soon as a newborn enters one’s life.I enter a state of pure delusion in the middle of the night. You know how some people can wake up, or be woken up, and be 100% “there”? Not me. I usually have to spend a good 20 seconds trying to figure out where I am, as if I sleep many different places, and then I have to look and see what the date and time is. Because when I’m woken up in the night, it’s as if I had been sleeping for roughly 256 years. Had I slipped into a coma and just come to? It feels like it.

When Luke was just a few weeks old, I was getting up two to three times a night to feed him. Typically there’s a 8pm feeding, and then a middle of the night feeding around 12:30a/1:00 and then a morning feeding around 5:00a. And nearly every single morning when I hear him at 5:00a, I get really excited that he slept through the night because I have nearly zero recollection that I ever fed him at 1:00a.

In fact, I’m so out of it, the only way I can tell if there was a middle of the night feeding is based on where my robe is. At the start of the night it’s on the bench at the end of my bed. And if I fed him, I then toss it on the chair next to the bed. So, when the day comes that I awake at 5:00a and see my robe on the bench, it will be cause for celebration! Despite my interesting, delusion-filled nights, I always take the time to cleanse and moisturize my face prior to taking my “night-naps.” And I recently got to try the Garnier Ultra-Lift® Miracle Sleep Cream™: Anti-Age + Anti-Fatigue Night Cream. garnier-3 And I need a miracle to happen in my sleep to help my skin from looking distressed in the morning. The consistency of the product is unusual, but not in a bad way! It’s bouncy and sort of holds itself together as a single unit if that makes sense. It’s probably the most unique texture of face cream I’ve ever used. It applies easily and soaks right in. And the price point is fantastic ($16.99!)! If you are an over-achiever when it comes to sleeping cream, try the Garnier Ultra-Lift Miracle Sleeping Cream: Anti-Age + Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream too. Now if only there was a cream to help my baby sleep through the night, all would be right in the world.

I am using Pond’s night cream right now, but when that runs out I will be trying this one. It sounds great! And I totally hear you about how you wake up in a delusional state in the middle of the night. My little guy is 5 years old, and if he gets up in the middle of the night, I am still like that! Just remember – it won’t be forever!! 🙂
Have a great Monday!

I used to love Garnier, but over the last few years I’ve been really disappointed with them. I religiously used both http://www.garnierusa.com/products/skincare/anti-aging/moisturizer/ultra-lift-anti-wrinkle-night-cream.aspx and http://www.garnierusa.com/products/styling/men/putty/power-putty-surfer-hair.aspx in college, but they drastically changed the formula, packaging, quantity, and price of both…and not for the better. I made a rule that I will not buy their products anymore!

I’ve been wanting to try this! I am a creams and potions kind of gal… I always wake up feeling like I never fell asleep. But a miracle cream that makes me LOOK like I’m well-rested… Well that’s totally worth it!

A few weeks ago you posted that you were using Burt’s Bees products and would give an update in a few weeks. Do you still plan on providing an update? If so, how will you know if that line worked or if adding this new product impacted the Burt’s Bees results?

Reply
Julie says · 05.11.15

Yes! I enjoy your blog Kate and I love you, but these sponsored posts have me so confused with your recommendations. You mentioned the Burts Bees product line a while back with no updates and then a week and a half ago you did a Pond’s review with the anti-wrinkle cream and this week it’s a Garnier product. How can you promote a product without truly using it and how do you know which products actually work and which ones don’t? Are you honestly using them all? If so, please share! I would love to know what your daily regiment actually is! I come to you for honest input, but lately I am having a hard time finding you to be a reliable source. Again…love your blog and even the change in content, but these posts just leave me a bit frustrated.

Reply
Cara says · 05.12.15

She’s not a reliable source as she has completely sold out to any company that comes her way. I used to trust her recommendations but now I can’t Help but question every product that she features on her blog.

I really want to try Garnier’s Ultra-Lift Miracle Sleeping Cream. I am only 22, but everyone says now is the time to start really caring for my skin. I also have a 7 month old and work full time… so sleep is fleeting, but I don’t want it to look that way.

Soooooo, which is it Kate? Ponds? Burt’s Bees? Garnier? Don’t your sponsors get upset when you shill their competitors’ products a week later?

I’m really wondering if you are just going to delete my comment (like you do to any other negative comments, including my own in the past) when the comments are considered entries into the sweepstakes.

I didn’t even know Garnier made a night cream! I stopped at Walgreens on my way home after I read this and bought some! Tried it last night and my skin felt really smooth this morning. I also bought the Tarte QVC special- all because of Kate:) You better be getting some good commission off these Kate!

It never really occurred to me about the benefits of a night cream until now. It definitely seems that allowing your skin to absorb the moisturizer at night without the interruption of the sun, pollution, etc. may be a great solution to looking and feeling more rested. I would love to try this product!
