Spring Shoes

spring shoes small things blog

one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten

What do all of these shoes have in common?

They are all flat.

Wedges or heels don’t really fit into my day to day life, so I’m having fun integrating more functional yet cuteย shoes into my wardrobe. Since my clothes are typically pretty plain, I like to add a little “something” to my outfit with my shoes.

Most of the time if I need to slip on a pair of flats, I go for the navy striped ones from Target. And if I need something a little sporty, I’ll wear these New Balance sneakers from J.Crew.

I’m really temped by the slide on sneakers on the left side of the graphic, but I just don’t know if I can pull off the look!

Have you gotten any new shoes for spring?ย

Hey Kate, I’m loving #7 but the link takes me to a website rather than the shoe. Can you help a girl out? Thanks!

I can’t find them on the Sole Society site anymore! : / They may have sold out. Sorry about that!

No worries! Thanks for the info on all of the shoes! I bought two pairs of slip ons at TJ Maxx (the brand is Roxy) and I LOVE them. Great for taking my daughter to the park or to wear out for a casual date night. I’m a California girl so it’s hard to give up my flip flops, but the slip ons are just too cute and darling when paired with capris. Love them!

I bought a pair of grey Vans last week. I wanted sneaker, because I always end up hurting my when I wear sandals. I’m thinking about also investing in a pair of slip ons… those one are tempting.

Hey Kate! I wasn’t so sure about the slip on style either, until I found these from Sperry! They’re super comfy and the mesh like top keeps your feet cool for the warmer months ๐Ÿ™‚ love these pics!

I wasn’t sure I could pull off the slip on sneakers either, but I bought a leopard pair from Target and I love them. I think you should give them a try!

I own the slip-on sneakers from Gap, your #5. My husband convinced me to try them on, because like you, I wasn’t sure I could pull them off. Smart man! They are now my most worn spring shoes. They are so comfortable, I can really get around in them, and they look great with a dress, cuffed skinny jeans, or even capris, basically anything I own! I absolutely recommend getting a pair of slip on sneakers. I don’t know how I got along without them!

These chucks are my go to right now. I love them!

I’m so happy that sneakers are considered “chic” these days…my back can’t ‘handle heels so much anymore LOL (getting old blows)

Great inspiration! I have a pair of black New Balance that I wear with my skinnies rolled up…but now I’m on the hunt for supportive, yet cute sandals. Flip flops don’t provide enough support….boo

My favourites are the nude die cut ones! So perfect for spring.

I’m a fan of sandals. Different colors, different heels, and I bought two new wedges for spring!

Woot! I just bought #4 yesterday and I’m wearing them today! Same color (nude) and everything! I LOVE THEM. I’ve been walking in them all day and there isn’t a blister in sight because the shoes are so flexible. I also ordered them in dark grey because I can never find comfortable pointy-toed shoes, so that means I need 2 (maybe 3??) colors, haha. ;D

My mommy shoe of choice has been Chucks (black, grey, red, whatever!) but I need nicer flats for work.

When I was pregnant with my oldest, I switched to flats and never looked back! I love the LC Lauren Conrad flats from Kohls. Super cute, affordable and comfy.

I started wearing slip on sneakers last summer when I was pregnant (until my feet were swelling so much that they didn’t fit haha!). I have 3 pairs now in different colors and styles, etc… And I’ve been debating getting a pair of funky leopard ones from Target just for fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

Most of my shoes are heels. The only problem with that, is that I don’t really wear heels. Thanks for the post, it’s quite helpful!

Ok so I’m pretty sure I’m not making any fashion statements, but I have these in several colors. The fact that they could literally be hosed off is pretty much awesome….yay for flats.

I have the navy striped shoes from Target, and I love them! I need to add arch support inserts, though, because my feet tire of them after long wear.

I can’t quite pull off the slide-on sneakers either! But these are a reasonable alternative. I got them and they are suuuuuuper comfy and cute!

5, 6, and 7 look like shoes that a grandpa would wear with Bermuda shorts, tall black socks and a fedora somewhere in Florida.

I’ve been waiting for a post like this. I needed some super cute sneakers that can double as walking around the block AND running-errands-while-looking-somewhat-put together shoes and you gave me a wealth of ideas! Thank you for sharing!

Go for the slide ons! Seriously, you won’t regret it. I got some Vans perf slide on sneakers last fall, and I LIVE in them. They are the best, especially when I am running out the door to pick up my daughter from kinder. I bet the white perf ones would be so cute on you!

I bought my first pair of vans a couple weeks ago. I researched all kinds of slip on sneakers so I could look somewhat fashionable while chasing my 2 toddlers ๐Ÿ˜‰ here’s what I went with and they have been great!

I think either 6 or 7 is really cute!!! I could TOTALLY see you wearing either pair of shoes. you could wear with jeans, with white denim or white pants. I wore a pair similar to these when I was teaching. I LOVED them!!! I would get something like that now but I broke my left ankle last May and I can only wear certain shoes now. I say go for it!!!

I got some espadrilles that I love from Old Navy. Can’t wear them in the rain though – the bottoms soak up the water and they get really heavy, weird. I jumped the gun and already bought a couple pairs of sandals – I couldn’t wait!! I would love a pair of slip-ons… they’re on my list ๐Ÿ™‚

haha funny you should ask … I bought 7 PAIRS OF SHOES in one day!! I rarely buy shoes … for me, they are just something to put on my feet because I have to (they tend to frown on me going barefoot at work). I also dress pretty casually, so I bought a bunch of tennis shoes & flats. Believe it or not, 3 pair were from walmart (usually their shoes are NOT comfy but these are), 2 from Target & 2 from Payless. I think I’m set for a while ๐Ÿ™‚
