I’m late, I know. Forgive me.

This is a *lightly* edited favorites video that I filmed RIGHT before I had to race off to my last doctor appointment before having the baby! Oh and a few things are disappointing products as well.

The Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eye Erase (what a mouthful) was a favourite of mine too this month. There are so many of these favourites i’d like to try eventually.

I’m disappointed that Mayballine Age Rewind was a disappointment for you but understand people like different products. I absolutely love the product and what it does for me; along with the non-gel Seche Vite top coat! I am interested in trying theBalm Cindy-Lou Manier now too!

I love the Maybelline Rewind too!! It’s fantastic!! I don’t have dark circles though, so I am using it elsewhere!

This concealer has been a favorite of mine for over a year now. It isn’t a heavy coverage, which I like. It all depends on what you’re looking for or need though! I think it’s so quick and easy to apply when I’m in a hurry as well.

I’ve been using aquage for a few years now based on your recommendation and I love it however, I can’t find a salon near me that carries it and it tends to be pricey online. I just recently bought biomega’s up all night and really like it. I was wondering if you’ve tried it? I’d love to hear what you think. I find using it with their texturizing power, shake it, makes for serious volume but can feel a bit product heavy.

Jordan says · 02.09.15

Biomega and Aquage are made by the same company (I believe).

Melissa G says · 02.09.15

I buy my Aquage on Ebay.

I always get my aquage on Amazon!

Always enjoy these favorites videos! You often mention that you return products. I had no idea stores will allow returns of opened makeup. Any chance you can add a little write up about store return policies someday? Thanks!

Reply
Kate says · 02.09.15

I’d hate to misquote something about a return policy per store. Just ask at check out!

I LOVE the Cindy-Lou Manizer. I got it as a Birchbox sample and I’m almost out and will definitely be getting the full size!

Reply
Karla says · 02.09.15

I am so glad you talked about the Cindy Loumanizer! I received a sample of that from Birchbox, and had no idea how to use it. (Is it a blush? Is it a bronzer? Is it a highlighter?) I applied it like you recommended and it looks beautiful! Also, amen on the Maybelline concealer. Best of luck with your new baby!

As far as concealer goes, I’m still loving the Bye Bye Undereye by IT Cosmetics that you recommended! I love your videos, Kate! I’m a long time user of Seche Vite top coat (I use the quick dry formula) and it definitely adds days to a manicure. I recently started using Aquage Uplifting Foam upon your recommendation. I have short hair and it works like a dream! Thanks for your great tips!!

Kate, Good luck with the baby….. I hope all goes good and smoothly… You will be missed, but I will catch up with al the tutorial… It is so sad that in France we cannot get Aquage…. I’ve heard so many good things too about the uplifting foam… I will try to order via Amazon… Also I do use Bobbie’s corrector and concealer in Pech colour and it actually works fine for me , so I was surprised to see that you were disapointed. But no all products work the same for everyone….

My thoughts go to you and your family for the arrival of the new addition!! Again enjoy the babies and the family time…

I love that concealer, and the bronzer. I need to try out that specific BB Cream, though. It looks so nice. Also- Aquage is a really great brand… I somehow always forget about them, though!

As far as concealers go, I like maybelline fit me concealer from the drugstore and Mac prolong wear concealer. I like to use a damp beauty blender to blend it out to prevent creasing. I have horrible dark circles as well! Also, about the aquage uplifting foam, I’ve ordered it twice from Amazon. The first time it was great, but the 2nd can I got was old or something. It didn’t work near as well as the first. So for those looking for it, def try local first, & Amazon as a last resort. Hope this was helpful!

Kate,
I love reading your blog and always feel encouraged by your thoughts on motherhood as I too have entered that world this past year. I am curious if you have any recommendations on anti-aging products? I am in my early thirties and want to start prevention now. Thanks!

Molly says · 02.09.15

I noticed that the products that disappointed you are still linked via affiliate links. Is there a reason for that?

Just an oversight on my part. Updated.

That was a sad ending! But I know you’ll be back to filming whenever you are able to 🙂
I always hear about the maybelline age rewind concealer, but I NEVER find it on stores, so it’s nice to know that I should test the product before buying. My go to concealer right now it’s the Erase Paste by Benefit, because it is kind of orangey. My color is the n.01 fair.
Have a calm week, and may baby number 2 come full of health (and bring more joy to your family)! (PS – How did you manage to not know the gender, it’s beyond me, I’d be totally freaking out to know by now)

I’ve been dying to try seche vite but noticed on the bottle/box that it says it could cause birth defects so that scared me away (hubby and i are trying!) – but I’ve seen other bloggers mention using it while pregnant recently, do you just think it’s something they HAD to say on the box but in all reality it’s actually fine? Just curious, I’d love to give it a try!

Well wishes to your growing family this week, can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or girl!

Kate says · 02.09.15

I looked at every bit of text on my box and bottle and didn’t see it. I think it would be best to ask your doctor!

The warning is because the product has Toluene in it… I found this info to explain more: https://lacquerglamour.wordpress.com/2011/09/21/seche-vite-and-toluene-harmless-or-harmful/

Love your videos, Kate! I also wasn’t a huge fan of the Maybelline concealer but I do like the brightening shade. It only comes in one pinky color and it has the same applicator but I think it’s great for underneath the eye before using concealer. Might be worth checking out!

I know you don’t endorse websites or anything, and I have nothing to gain by this, but Image Beauty sells Aquage products. That is where I found the uplifting foam that you recommended. (I LOVE it by the way) If anyone is interested, they do sell the line. I have no idea how the prices compares or anything.

You are adorable! I love this video. I’ve been reading/watching you for a long time now and get the biggest kick out of you because it’s like listening to a best friend or younger sister talk about stuff that I’m interested in but fail at all the time. You’ve actually taught me how to do my hair! (Thank you!) This video is so cute because I soooo remember being where you are – at the end of my pregnancy and in a hurry but a little distracted. I can’t wait to see if this baby is a boy or a girl and what name you’ve chosen! Best wishes you to and enjoy these last few days.

I love Aquage products especially their finishing spray. I get their products at Imagine Beauty this is their website: http://www.discountbeautycenter.com. Get on their email list they offer discounts. I’ve been ordering from them for several years as no one carried Aquage in my area. They have a lot of different products, etc.

I’m so glad you said that about a boy making your hands more dry! I’m pregnant with my first (boy) and my hands have been SO dry! Obviously I have nothing to compare it to with never being pregnant before but the weather here hasn’t been so cold that I’d be this dry. If I don’t constantly use hand lotion I have old lady dried up hands! I believe the wives tale you heard!

I loveee that undereye concealer. I use it in the salmony pink shade and I am completely obsessed. I don’t think I’ll buy a different product for awhile. I haven’t tried the cream shadows from Bobbi Brown. Do they have a nice color range? I have been using this one: and its super awesome and pigmented. https://www.youniqueproducts.com/staceykovach/products/view/US-22501-00
There just isn’t a large color range yet, so I’m looking for more colors.
