5 Things to Do/Try/Buy with Emily from Emily Ley

(This post is a part of a series I’m running while I’m on maternity leave! I asked a few fellow bloggers and friends what they would insist their own friend buy/try/do. I thought this would be a great way to get to know these bloggers a little bit, and to hear some of their secret “must-have” things!)ย

Emily Ley just had the cutest twins in history. She also has an adorable son named Brady!

You may know her from her organizational products, especially her Simplified Planner. I’ve acquired a few of her notepads over the years too and love them!

I asked Emily what 5 things she would insist her friends try, buy or do, and this is what she told me:

DOTRYBUY

1. You must own at least two Tourance Blankets (often on sale at One Kings Lane). They will change your life. I’m serious.

2. You must try Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Cream (infused with Olive Oil). It’s my go to hair products and it lasts forever. My hair can get all kinds of frizz in the Florida humidity. I’ve been using this religiously for years.

3. No matter where you live, you must visit the Gulfย of Mexico. It’s my happy place. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful beaches and the Gulf’s white sandy beaches and cool, salty blue waves make me feel alive. I’m not exaggerating. It’s heaven on earth.

4. You must try Mac’s Bred for Beauty BRIGHT Pink blush. I think it’s a gorgeous shade on any skin tone. I’ve been using it since I was allowed to wear makeup! ๐Ÿ™‚

5. You must have a collection of party supplies for impromptu get-togethers. I stock up a few times a year from the Target sale section and gather paper napkins, cups, plates, and even utensils for any occasion that might arise! You never know!

Emily, those Tourance blankets look like heaven. I’m going to have to keep my eyes out for those! No matter what the season, I always like curling up on the couch with a cozy blanket!

Thanks for your 5 recommendations!

Visiting the Gulf is definitely a must! It’s my happy place. Plus, you never know when a manatee will swim by and wave a cute hello at you ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love Florida!

I would love to experience the beauty of the Florida Gulf. I live about an hour away from the Texas Gulf/Galveston and the murky brown water and plentiful dried out seaweed everywhere leave much to be desired ๐Ÿ™ So jealous! I’ll get there one day!

While not as bad as FL, it gets pretty humid in Kansas in the summer. So I’m always looking for recommendations to help keep my hair smooth…I’ll have to check out the hair cream! โค (And, I love the Gulf of Mexico too! Sanibel Island is my favorite : )

Kate, your choice to block people because they gave their honest opinion about a product on your post, truly shows your level of maturity is that of a 2 yr old!! Grow up Kate. If you are mature enough to post on social media, than expect that you are not gonna get everyone to agree with what you post. If you are against opinions that are not to your liking, than maybe you should get off social network!

Wow, what a horribly rude comment. If you don’t like the blog or how Kate has chosen to run it, go somewhere else. I believe your comment has exemplified your maturity level, and I assure you it’s not flattering.

I don’t see how your rude and uncalled for comment has anything to do with this post. However as someone who enjoys the blog very much I hope that this rude remark is removed or ignored and you continue to do exactly what you are doing Kate. You do a great job and I appreciate your time you spend teaching myself and others about hair, fashion, products etc.

I live in Florida as well and not all beaches are created equally. Not all the gulf beaches are white sand and blue/green water. My favorites would have to be Siesta Key in Sarasota or Destin.

Emily, #5 is such a good idea! I don’t know about other people but I always try to keep party throwing items on hand! Most people don’t think about those things until people are already on their way to your house and by then it’s too late! Thank you!
