5 Things to buy/try/do with Rachel of Saressa Designs

Luke’s Arrival

(This post is a part of a series I’m running while I’m on maternity leave! I asked a few fellow bloggers and friends what they would insist their own friend buy/try/do. I thought this would be a great way to get to know these bloggers a little bit, and to hear some of their secret “must-have” things!)

Rachel-1

Rachel, the talent behind Saressa Designs, has been a long time sponsor of my blog. I love her jewelry and honestly wear at least one piece from the handful that I have on a weekly basis. It’s simple, feminine, and can easily be dressed up or down. I’m pretty much wearing casual clothes constantly these days, but I love wearing minimal jewelry along with it to feel more put together.

Anyway, I asked Rachel what 5 things she would insist a friend buy/try/do, and here is what she told me:

DOTRYBUY

1. You must own a bag from Rough and Tumble Bags. Having quality, well make handbag or tote is so worth every penny. Or, try a Farmers Market bag to start as they’re affordable, durable, super handy and cute!

2. You must try the lemon lip balm from C.O. Bigelow. It’s moisturizing, soothing, light and smells delicious!

3. You must go to the opera at least once! The music and talent are so incredible and moving. . . it truly is like no other experience. No cheating with a DVD either, it’s not the same!

4. You must taste the Butterscotch Caramels from Trader Joes. They are so delicious!

5. You must try Folex stain remover (we find it at Home Depot). It’s the BEST household stain remover I have ever tried. . . ever! And it’s doesn’t smell too strong or seem too harsh. I swear by it.

With 2 cats, and one that likes to toss his cookies on the carpet, I’m most excited about the stain remover recommendation. And that’s how you know you are an adult . . . when stain removers excite you.

Thanks for your 5 suggestions Rachel!

#6. You MUST get some jewelery from Saressa Designs!! Rachel’s pieces are all absolutely gorgeous and her customer service is incredible. I’m slightly addicted to the druzy studs… among other things. Can’t wait for my next order to get here!! 🙂

You MUST try this …. to be happy? to be beautiful? to feel better about yourself? The older I get, the more I have learned that the true “MUSTS” in life are not things you can buy. I love beauty and lifestyle suggestions just like the next girl, but don’t fall into the trap that you MUST have things. These items may be great, but they will break, expire, get colored on by a toddler, etc.

I used the word “must” in order to convey the idea that these are the kind of things that a close girlfriend would suggest you try (ex. “Kim, you gotta try _____”)

That makes sense, Kate … and you explained it well in the intro paragraph that I skipped. Sorry!

I second the Folex – best stain remover ever. I especially love the absence of a scent, I hate artificial scents! I buy mine at Home Depot.

Do you use Folex as a laundry stain remover and if you do, is it safe for colors?
Thank you!

We have used Folex as a stain remover many times. It has gotten out EVERYTHING. Our daughter smeared greasy Auquafor all over our light blue duvet cover and nothing else took it out. Then my husband thought to try the Folex . One wash and it was gone. That stuff is amazing!

Thanks for the info! I’m anxious to try it out! Can you pretreat the stains on clothingmand leave it sit say overnight or do you recommend washing it right away?

I am obsessed with that lemon lip balm! But all of the Bath & Body Works in my city seem to have stopped selling them. I’m devasted without it. I might have to hunt some down online!

OMGoodness-Rough & Tumble (used to be Mims & Maine) -best.bags.ever. I’m so hard on things for some reason. I have two bags from her-and both look great years later. It makes you ‘get’ that there really is a difference between nice & durable leather.
