New Makeup Brushes: Sigma

What’s On My Nursing Table

I love watching beauty bloggers on YouTube. One of the kinds of brushes that I often hear various YouTuber’s mention is the brand Sigma.

Every once in awhile I would browse around Amazon and see if any caught my eye, and while I was intrigued I never actually bit the bullet and bought any.

Makeup brushes aren’t nearly as exciting as makeup itself to me.

So, when my mom asked for ideas for Christmas, I was glad that I remembered these brushes. And she kindly bought me three of them!

Don’t let the size fool you, this powder brush is quite fluffy. I love it for applying powder or highlighter. It picks up product nicely and doesn’t kick it all around like some brushes can.

A smaller sister brush is the powder/blush brush. I use this for applying blush. It’s rounded at the top which allows me to focus a bit of extra color right on the apples of my cheeks.

The large angled contour brush is perfect for concentrating a darker contour color under my cheekbones and along my jaw line.

So far I have really enjoyed these brushes! I haven’t run into any shedding issues and I like how sturdy they feel. Other than a few eyeshadow brushes, these are the most expensive brushes I own, so I’m going to be watching them carefully to make sure they last.

I have Sigma brushes, and I hate them. Mine shed like crazy, so I switched to Sedona Lace, and they are MUCH more affordable, no shedding, and wash and dry in no time. They also do really good sales! 🙂

Contact sigma and they will send you replacement brushes. I had the same issue with shedding and they sent new ones. My second set I’ve had for over a year and there has been no issues. Sigma has great customer service!

Agreed! Sigma really takes care of their customers. I’ve had all of my brushes for over a year now and haven’t experienced any issues.
I use them on all of my beauty videos on YouTube, and wash on a regular basis. They’re my absolute favorite!

Thanks for the ideas! I’m always trying new brushes. I actually love the Mary Kay brushes, and Ulta’s eyeshadow brushes are great!

I love the Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki for applying foundation. It blends really well, probably my all time favorite brush! I have not tried any of their makeup, but am interested in their new Enlight Collection, it has lots of soft neutrals. Has anyone tried their makeup?

I’ve been eyeing Sigma brushes for a couple years, especially that F80 one that I see everyone use! I might bite the Sigma bullet this year and buy a set….

Yes, the F80 is a must-have. Also, in my opinion, their best brushes are for eye shadow application. The E40, E 25, and E54 are three great brushes to start with, or just pick up a kit that has those in them. Also, the tapered face F25 is great for setting under-eye concealer.

I just got a whole new bunch of make-up brushes but have been wanting to try Sigma for a while now! Maybe I’ll buy a few crucial ones and try ’em out 🙂

I’m interested in these; I use a powder foundation and the brush I have (from a very well known dept store make up counter company) sheds like crazy on me. Any recommendations from you folks for powder (not liquid) foundation? Thanks!

Sigma = BEST MAKE UP BRUSHES EVER. It truly makes eye make-up application 100 x’s easier. I’m not one for spending a a lot of money on a single product – but, these brushes are very much worth it. =)

I love my Sigma brushes! I have a few I’m eyeing that are on my wish list. Their blending blush (I think it’s the E25) is one of my FAVORITES.

I got the “be cool” travel kit in November for my birthday and I love it! I do like the face brushes more than eye though. The flat top kabuki is amazing for applying foundation! 😊

You need to try the F05 for contouring and the Sigmax line from Sigma. Those babies are AMAZING for concealor and foundation. I swear by Sigma brushes besides a few from Real Techniques, it is all I use!

Sigma is the BOMB! The Real Techniques brushes are a great dupe!

I have never been too worried about brushes. I picked up a few Quo brushes on sale (Canadian brand) and I just love them! I’ve had them for four or five years? They rarely shed and clean really nicely.

I just ordered the Sigma Kabuki F80 for foundation and the P80 Precision Flat for under eye concealer a few weeks ago. These two brushes have literally changed the way I do my makeup! And I didn’t think they were that expensive but I have previously purchased several MAC brushes and they are 2x-3x more expensive than Sigma so I feel like I’m getting a deal!

I have had completely different experiences than you with My Sigma Brushes. I have and love every single one of them!! Not had shedding after the initial wash, no bleeding, no splaying (although I use brush guards when I dry them). I have very few MAC brushes but the one that sheds the most for me is the 181 and it sheds 1-2 hairs each time I use it (2-3 days a week).
