December Birchbox

My Favorite Simple and Quick Hair Tutorials

My December Birchbox arrived and I was absolutely thrilled to see the Fatty Sundays pretzel in the box! I just discovered them on the Birchbox website, and after sharing about them on the blog last week or so, my mother-in-law brought me a bunch of white chocolate covered pretzels in the hospital. It was such a nice treat to have!

I’m interested in trying the Hair Powder by Lulu Organics. The description makes it sound like it will smell amazing!

The BeeKind body lotion got tossed right in my bag to help combat this dry winter skin I’m dealing with. I’ve been washing my hands more than ever now that I’ve got a newborn at home, and I’ve found they are getting pretty cracked and dry.

My hands got extremely dry from all of the washing when I had my son. He was born in the middle of the winter as well. My favorite nurse recommended I try the Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Santizer Moisturizer. It is amazing. It is a lotion but it kills germs just like soap or other sanitzers. It is super thick and rich. I have become addicted. That was 4 years ago January 14. I still use it. I’ve recommended it to everyone I know practically. We’re all addicted now. Thought you might want to try it. It’s a multi tasker for sure.

I think we received the same box 🙂 I tried the hair powder and it works really well for those days that you’d rather not wash your hair or to freshen up after running errands all day. I’m not a huge fan of the smell, but other than that it’s definitely a great product!

If you are nursing, that doesn’t help with dehydration either. I had to use eye drops for dry eyes while nursing.

I LOVED the Lulu Organics Hair Powder! It isn’t a high powered dry shampoo but is perfect when you need just a little something!

I haven’t tried BeeKind, but I have been using Yu-Be cream on my dry as sandpaper, cracked and bleeding hands. In about a week they went from red and painful to smooth as silk! I received a small tube from Sephora as a sample and I’m completely hooked! It doesn’t wash off easily, so it stays on longer than most lotions/creams but doesn’t feel greasy at all.

I struggled with dry skin terribly (!!!!) after having my 2nd son 9 months ago. It may be from washing your hands more plus the weather but it can be a hormonal shift as well. Your testosterone levels can remain high up to 3 months after having your baby which causes dry, tough skin. I swear I was slathering lotion on my hands about 10 times a day and it always felt like it wasnt even soaking in. So find the thickest lotion you can. Ha. It does get better 🙂 Hopefully you find some relief!! Congratulations btw! I’m a “boy mom” and nothing is more fun. Love it!!

I received the mint chocolate covered pretzel stick in my box this past month, and it was very yummy! I have previously received that hair powder, but have not sampled it yet. The rest of my box included a CC cream by Supergoop, a non-aerosol hairspraya few products from the Honest company, and some skin care items from Eslor. I haven’t sampled any of them, besides eating the pretzel. That lotion looks awesome, as my skin is severely dry this time of year in my climate, and I am constantly applying lotion. It’s currently -18 degrees (-38 with the wind chill) here in ND!

I just got my first Birchbox, and it’s contents are slightly different than yours..is this unusual–do the boxes all contain different samples? Just curious…

(Just started my own blog–so please excuse how sparse it is at the moment!)

Birchbox tailors what you receive in your box to the profile quiz that you take when you sign up, so they have many different box configurations that they send out each month. They also don’t just send one particular sample out for only one month, for instance I got the Fatty Sundays pretzels in my November box, but Kate got hers in her December box. You can go in to your profile at any time to change your selections if you feel like your boxes aren’t suiting you, but they may not change drastically.

I LOVE the Bee Kind lotion – it absorbs right in and really moisturizes without leaving ANY kind of greasy-ness. I hate putting lotion on and putting my rings back on because they get all slippery and gross but this lotion is amazing! My husband used it once and he’s even hooked 🙂

I have been so happy with my boxes so far! I have loved each skincare sample, especially, and am probably going to order the system from the last box. Even the lipgloss colors have been good, and that’s usually a miss for me. So glad to see your continued bliss with baby David on Instagram. (And I did the double bun for my NYE party last night, such a great up-do that was only about 20 minutes from damp hair to curled and pinned!
