there are so many simple changes you can do to pulling your hair back into a ponytail to completely change the look.
This tutorial is simple and very similar to the Elegant Half Up.
You can start with straight, curly, or practically any texture of hair! It does need to be long enough to pull back into a ponytail, but if you have short hair, just try the Elegant Half up!

Aww I need ot try this ASAP!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a cute way to wear a ponytail....I will be trying this today! Question, you always use the clear elastics, where do you find them? I've looked at both Target and Walmart and I can only find the really small tiny ones. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI found mine at CVS :-)

Just for you!!
I love this, thanks for sharing! I have pretty long hair and this will be perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteHere's a question for your November FAQ video. I've had my hair teased only once in my life, and I swore I'd never do it again because it took me three times longer than normal to brush it out (after conditioning), and I tore out several strands of hair in the process. You teased you hair in this video for a simple, everyday style. So, does that mean you have any tricks for detangling?
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
start combing it out from the bottom and slowly work your way to the roots!
DeleteThanks for the response, Kate! Gotta get over my fears, I guess!
Deletenow...thats pretty!
ReplyDeleteThats so pretty. I'm definitely gonna have to try it out!! :)

ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! I really love your posts!!
ReplyDeleteI do have two questions for you, but they don't have anything to do with this post.
First, I have really really super thick hair, and I've never been able to just use elastic to keep my hair in a pony tail. It usually hurts my fingers, snaps, or slides. Is there anything else you would recommend instead of elastic (and other than regular hair bands)
Secondly, since I have really thick hair, I have trouble doing anything with my hair. When I blow dry it, it just becomes huge, frizzy, and a mess. The only thing is can do is straighten it or put it in a ponytail or bun. Since you haven't felt/dealt with my hair, I know it's hard to give me advice about this. But, I was wondering if there are any products or techniques you would recommend?
Thanks so much!
Love it. It is so pretty. I will definitely give it a try!
ReplyDeleteok, let's be real. you seriously have magic hair fingers. I always have to allow like 4 times the length of the video so I can be sure & screw up a few times. so cute as always. love.
ReplyDeletecute! another new go to for everyday wear! thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI do this all the time! I get tons of compliments and tell them to check out your blog. Also just a side note I went to Target tonight! I know how much you love it and they have put out some awesome holiday clothing! AHHHH can't wait till pay day!
ReplyDeleteWhat soap do you use to wash your make up off? Your skin always look great!
ReplyDeleteCan you do a post with an updated haircut? I'd love to see it down and straight compared to your FAQ haircut post from back in the day!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! This is giving me major haircut remorse. I cut it super short again after a 2 year grow out...this makes me wish I hadn't. :( Oh well its only hair and it will grow back!
ReplyDeleteThis was a great hair tutorial! :- )
ReplyDeleteI love these kind of tutorials...easy...fast...works on any kind of hair.
I have really thick hair so most of your tutorials do not work on my hair...but this one was great! Thanks!

Ok, so I love this style and was able to do it with ease this morning. Problem, it fell out after a few hours. I used 4 pins and plenty of hair spray. Is there a trick to putting bobby pins in so they hold?
ReplyDeleteI just did this on my ponytail, while sitting at my desk! Love it. Kate, I love that you always show styles that the average gal can do :)
ReplyDeletegreat way to spice up the ponytail :)
ReplyDeletekate, i came across your blog a few months ago and absolutely love it!! this post is great and i can't wait to try it out. do you think that this technique could be done as a side ponytail? i love the look of a loose, soft side pony and it seems like this technique would lend itself to that look. any tips?
ReplyDeletethanks, always looking forward to the next post!

ReplyDeleteI have tried this hairstyle several times. I am able to do it and it looks great, but after an hour or so it seems to start to fall apart and pieces of hair come loose all over. I have tried using more bobby pins and using more hairspray. Do you have any tips?
You are such a great teacher, I so upset it's bedtime because I can't wait to try this out! Thank you!
