Last night was so much fun.
It was also the first night of my life where I had two places to be at the same time. So it was a bit of a whirlwind, but totally worth it.
My sister and I visited the new Madewell store at a local mall about a week ago. When we were there, we were told about this event that they had last night. Since we loved the store, and love shopping, we definitely wanted to go to the event.
Madewell and Fabsugar teamed up to create a "MadewellWithFab" styling session in various Madewell stores across the nation. All you had to do was bring an old pair of jeans and you earned 20% off your first denim purchase. They had a DJ in store, along with cupcakes and Izzie drinks.
Some of the friendliest and most helpful employees were there that night as well. Lindsey and Ibby made Lauren and I feel like models. Lindsey kept bringing pieces to complete our looks and was genuinely excited about how the looks came together.
It was really the first time I've let someone else pick out an outfit for me. And that probably goes for Lauren too.
It was pretty nice!
I have been searching for a lace-ish top for awhile. I didn't want it to be too grandma/romantic lace, but more of a cool/hip lace. And Madewell had it. Of course.
I requested that it be a part of my outfit so I could finally put it on.
Meanwhile, Lauren was put in the most adorable outfit of all time. She literally was the talk of the store since she looked so great.
Lindsey then changed my tank and added a scarf. And you can't see it, but I'm wearing the cutest shoes of all time. They aren't even particularly special, but they are perfect.
Last thing: if you need a scarf this fall/winter, go to Madewell. They have tons. And they are each really unique and totally wearable.
Here are all the items we were loving/wearing at the Madewell event:
Kate's Outfit
Lauren's Outfit (I couldn't find the polka dot top online!)
Afterwards, Lauren and I headed to the first ever TriFabb event in Chapel Hill. (go Duke!)
We each brought items to donate to Transforming Hope, a local charity working to end sex trafficking in the triangle area.
This ministry is particularly close to my heart as my sister and I just volunteered with Global Hope India in July during ServeRDU (our annual service event through our church). It has been great to meet all the people involved with this cause, and we're hoping to contribute in some way too.
Carrie was there! hey Carrie!
And the group shot:
Both events were great, and when Lauren and I were driving home we were exhausted! It's fun to meet other bloggers and we are looking forward to another TriFabb event!
Have a great Friday and a restful weekend!

That's awesome! I was so sad that I couldn't come to the TriFABB event and am looking forward to the next one!
ReplyDeleteUghhh, I had never heard of Madewell until this post ... and now I'm on their website, and I'm not going to have any money left :) thanks a lot! Do their clothes run pretty true to size?
ReplyDeleteAmen! I can't wait for another event, Although I couldn't make it to this one the cupcakes alone are worth it! J/k But it's great to mingle and be apart of something Great! Great Blog! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love your outfits! Super cuteness!! We don't have Madewell here but I wish we did :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I am so excited they brought in Madewell locally. Thank you for attending TriFabb's launch party last night! We didn't get a chance to talk much, but will definitely have to catch up next time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like so much fun....espc. when shared with your sister ! Happy weekend :)

It was fun to follow your and Lauren's Instagram posts last night but I was exhausted thinking of you bopping from Southpoint to Chapel Hill and home again.
ReplyDeleteI really hope to get to the next TriFabb meet up. It's been fun to browse blogs from the list.
I love both of your outfits! Totally adorable
ReplyDeleteWhat color is the tank? I have a similar top in ivory (ER, as well as black) that I'm tryin to figure out how to wear. The boutique owner suggested a brightly colored bandeau bra, but since I'm a 36 yo mom of three, that's not a good idea!
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely try a solid colored tank underneath a lace top. And I'm totally with you--there is no way I would was a bandeau bra under it. #crazy
Deleteoooh i love the lace top on you, especially just wearing it with a tank, it's too pretty to cover up with a scarf!
ReplyDeleteLauren, looks adorable too! fun night!
CUTE outfits!

ReplyDeleteI got mine for $30 at a little dress shop. I've actually seen them in several colors this summer
DeleteGosh cute outfits! But, I'm a frugal shopper!
ReplyDeleteHoly moly, love the polka dot sweater! And the lace top- you are so right, not too "grandma" or dreamy. That is a really hard thing to find.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of cropped shirts however, I don't want to draw attention to my mid section ha ha ha. Or maybe I do...I actually like my waist and NOT my legs...you might have just opened my eyes to something-THANKS!
