Remember this photo of my bland bathroom?†
Well, I've made some great progress on the makeover. I chose this awesome shower curtain from Target that is full of pattern. Due to the way the bathroom is laid out, the shower curtain is parallel to the doorway. When you walk past the bathroom, you see the shower curtain. And I'm glad that it's visible so I can enjoy it!
And since the Chip It! tool from Sherwin-Williams showed me which colors would work best, I decided to go with Overjoy for the walls!†
I think a yellow bathroom will be a lot of fun. And Overjoy is bright and light enough to really liven up the space.
I found a few other accessories that complement the colors in the shower curtain as well.
I love how that little white vase on the left mirrors the flower pattern on the shower curtain. And it's delicate enough to sit amongst other bottles and vases on the sink without taking up too much space.
The light pink soap dispenser came from Target. I like that I can pull in a little bit of pink without it being too pink.
I love these containers for q-tips and cotton balls. These will sit on the sink as well, so guests can find them easily. There is nothing worse than staying at someone's home and not being able to find little bathroom necessities like these. Leaving them visible--but contained--is a great way to decorate a countertop.†
I've also been inspired by this photo and am hoping to find some flowers and a similar vase.
For wall art, I'm hoping to find something simple, since the shower curtain is so busy. Maybe even a decal or a metal "piece" instead of art. I'll have to see what I can find!†
Have you tested out the Chip It! button yet? †Drag the Chip It! button to your toolbar:
It's so simple, and really helps you think outside the box with color options. You can watch a short video on how to use it here.
I can't wait to show you the bathroom when it's finished. I'm hoping for a fresh and bright room for my guests!†
For a chance to win a $1,000 Visa gift card and a $200 Sherwin-Williams gift card, tell me about an image that you'd like to "chip" (feel free to include a link to the image).

ReplyDeleteI love these colors! Thanks for introducing me to Chip it! I want to paint my whole house now! LOL
I'm so happy you blogged about this today - We close on our new house in less than 2 weeks and I'm having anxiety about paint colors/decorations. Almost everything in the house is beige, so I have a blank canvas to work with. Exciting, but overwhelming! Chip It will be such a useful tool for me!
ReplyDeleteI have chip-it, and love this image: http://letschipit.com/Chip/n9lyGS/

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are building a new house and when I saw your blog post about Chip-It several weeks back, I got so excited! It was exactly what I needed to plan ahead and figure out how I was going to style each room.
ReplyDeleteSo far I have used Chip-It to create styles for our master suite (see below), our study (Safari/African), our two guest bedrooms (Vintage and Asian), our guest bathroom (Bold and bright, dancing in the rain-ish), and our kitchen (Italian). I told you I got excited! :)
Below are links to the two images used to create our master suite design style. This is actually the honeymoon suite we stayed in on our wedding night back in January! I thought it would be very nostalgic to design our bedroom just like our honeymoon suite, not to mention the fact that we adored the elegent, yet royal feel of the room!

I have this amazing hand-painted teacup. My grandma gave it to me when I was about 3 years old, it was a piece from her grandma's wedding china. I love it and I've always wanted to decorate my kitchen around it. I think I will have to use the chip it program and see what I can do with it!
ReplyDeleteWe're in the same boat but with our own bathroom (we only have 1 bathroom for the house). The house came built with a blue-ish/turquoise tile around the bottom half of one side of the bathroom (where the shower is) and we bought a simple yet elegant with its pattern, dark brown shower curtain and rug. Now that we stripped the horrific wallpaper down that was in there, we're looking for a complimentary color with CHIP IT to see what would look best with the tile and the curtain! It's a great tool, my husband is way more psyched about this than I am!
ReplyDeleteTWITTERED it to! https://twitter.com/KatieSundt/status/222393489915248640

ReplyDeleteI love the color you chose!!! I love grey and yellow, as seen on my blog. www.joyfulsearches.blogspot.com I love this giveaway!!!! I would love to do an ocean theme, but not too literal. I was thinking about a grey/blue color. Slightly dark and moody. Will definitely be using the Chip it tool! Thanks!

Here is the image to the living room I wish I had... unfortunately, my living room looks nothing like this. It has one big picture window, two little square crank windows, and a door on 3 of the 4 walls. It's a long galley-styled room that is hard to place furniture in. This inspiration came from a need to have a calm place in such a chaotic life. By bringing these colors to my very bland living room, I feel like me and my other half will be able to relax at the end of the day.

We live in military housing, so paiting the walls is a no-no. :( But, I would love to re-decorate a few rooms in my house. My husband is currently deployed, so during this deployment, it is my goal to revamp! My plan is to revamp my desk area. As a full time college student, I need more organization (and it has to be cute too!). I would also like to do something with our downstairs (guest) bathroom. It's bland too and needs some red! And finally, my youngest daughter is on the autism spectrum so needless to say her room constantly looks like a tornado! I need organization, organization and more organization. I would also love to paint her dresser (which she uses for her toys) her favorite color to help add a pop in the room!
ReplyDeleteI am in the process of converting my Dad's old garage into an apartment for me! Chip it is really going to help me pick all the colors I need! I have a wonderful quilt that I'll be using in my room and it may be hard to match colors up.

I'm moving to a new apartment shortly and need some color ideas. I'd use chip on a photo of a friend's bridal bouquet - lots of hydrangeas, but also used decorative lettuce. It was fresh and bright, but also very soft - perfect for a bedroom or living space!
ReplyDeleteI'm remodeling my home and love that picture and have it as inspiration for my bathroom. So glad I found it on pinterest. I would color chip a painting that is in my living room. It has the perfect blue hue and would love it on my walls.

ReplyDeleteI'm ready for a change in my bedroom, and I'd like to "chip" a photo of the glorious hydrangeas in bloom here on Cape Cod right now. They're everywhere, and I can't begin to describe the rich, depth of the blues, violets and pinks. As I drive to work each morning, these colors make me so happy to live in such a beautiful area, and I think that would be a wonderful feeling for my bedroom, too!
