Could I use the word "half" one more time in this tutorial? ;)
This is a new way to pull half of your hair back while also including a braid! If you can't do this style, today's tutorial will be a great alternative for you.
It's also a really adaptable style. . .meaning it can be done on a variety of hair lengths and textures!
At the end of the style, I place 2 bobby pins in vertically to hold the hair in place. They are completely visible (as you will see in photos). Sometimes I like that look. If you don't, the only thing you would need to do differently is to place the bobby pins in horizontally against the section you pull over the braid. It will all make sense when you watch it.
Refer to this post to see what's in my hair.

Love it!!

Can't wait to try this, although I am seriously bobby pinned, teasing and braid challenged, but practice makes perfect right?!?
ReplyDeleteJust tried this this morning! Its amazing though... you needed only 2 bobby pins and I needed 8! And our hair is even the same length, mine just doesn't like to hold. :) Thanks for the cute (and quick!) hairstyle :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I will be trying this tomorrow! I am pretty sure I have fine motor skill envy now...thanks ;)

ReplyDeleteoh my, this is so cute ! It is a goal of mine to be more creative with my hair...it is long and thick, and sometimes that is a problem with up do's or even half up do's...I don't have the patience to put 100 bobby pins in and I often get headaches...
ReplyDeletesooo, can i just come visit you and have you do my hair for me? please? :) (obviously, super cute 'do!)
ReplyDeleteI love your tutorials! I have been able to try so many different things with my hair after watching! Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate!
ReplyDeleteI love this look. I need you to be my personal hairstylist. I'm terrible, about two looks I can master, haha =)

You are seriously the super cutest girl ever!!! If people don't like the visible bobby pin look, another idea is painting the bobby pins with funky colours using nail polish, that way it's an obvious fashion statement!! -Jodi
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE this style! Thank you so much for your tutorials. I use them all of the time.
ReplyDeleteYou have the perfect hair and you are perfect at fixing it!! I love all of your hairstyles now if I could just have you fix my hair every morning before I go to work! I take your pictures to my hair dresser all the time and I am so close to getting my hair cut to your length, but just haven't gotten brave enough. My hair has become a security blanket and it really isn't even that long! Thanks for all the cute hairstyles!!
ReplyDeleteLove this. I'm going to do this fir work tomorrow. THANK YOU I JUST ADORE YOU¡
ReplyDeleteLooks so nice. I would love to be able to do this, but I don't think it would turn out quite the same. Although after watching this video I'm very tempted to cut my hair much shorter!
ReplyDeleteKate, it's Zeljka from Croatia Europe again :)
ReplyDeleteToday I took my children to our hair stylist to cut their hairs. First thing she said was - you look sooo good! What is going on with you? And I told about you, your blog, my newly discovered beautifull hair! Tnx, dear! You rock!
How long does it take you to do this type of hair style?
ReplyDeleteLove it and can't wait to try it this weekend! I work in childcare so during the week it's mostly quick ponytails for me.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair.do you fix your hair like that everyday?
ReplyDeleteI love this,I can't wait to try it tomorrow.your blog is so great. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your style. I tried to get my hair cut like yours but they screwed it up..so now it has to slightly grow out until I can do some of your things, but I love them all!! You really know how to style your hair. I have shared your link to so many people and they all love your hair as well. Very cute and practical!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Your hair is the perfect texture for these hairstyles. I have thick straight hair and its just not as pliable...but Ill try!
ReplyDeleteany tips for someone who wants to do something braided, but can't braid very well and has very thin hair..... I tried this and my braid was so little you could barely see it
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to cut my hair short (well medium, but short to me). I have always used the excuse that I wouldn't know how to style my hair if it was shorter, but your blog fixed that! Anyway today I cut my hair off and donated it! Thanks Kate!
You are good girl!
ReplyDeleteKate, I love this! I did it today, my hair is pretty long and has a good amount of natural wave, it came so cool! I was at the grocery store, and got compliments on it! Yay! Love your blog and all the hair tutorials, they are really awesome... Keep up the good work!
