A few months ago I won a stencil of my choice from this blog. And I made these for my new studio, and LOVED them!
So I got another Cutting Edge Stencil to try a little furniture makeover.
Disclaimer: I just painted right on top of an ikea dresser. No prep or nothing. Do NOT do that. I mainly just wanted to show you all how it looks to paint furniture. Refer to this blogger for tips on painting furniture!
(I chose the large Rabat stencil)
Use a small sponge roller with a tiny amount of paint on it. The idea is more strokes of less paint! That prevents leaking!
Tape the stencil down from the top and bottom. That will help keep it flat!
They send a single "strip" of the stencil so you can fill in the holes on the ends.
The finished look!
What do you think? One day when I have a piece of furniture that needs a little *umph*, I will definitely stencil the top. It's a cheap way to refresh old furniture too!
Do you want to win a Cutting Edge Stencil of your own (up to $50.00)??
Good news! They are giving one away to one lucky Small Things Blog reader!
They have extremely helpful videos on their website too, so if you have never stenciled before you will feel like a pro after you watch it!
Here is how to enter to win a stencil of your choice (valued up to $50.00):
1. Leave a comment below with your e-mail address included telling me your favorite kind of stencil. Repetitive geometric pattern? Flowery accents? (your answer will not factor into the decision of who wins. It's completely random.)
2. For a second chance to win, "like" Cutting Edge Stencil's Facebook page and leave a second comment below telling me you did (with your e-mail address included!)
Good luck! The winner will be chosen at 7:30am EST on Friday December 16th via random.org. The winner will be notified via e-mail.
