How to use a Powder Texturizer
We all know my deep love for Birchbox. It’s a monthly subscription (like a magazine subscription), that brings a box to your doorstep or mailbox once a month full of product samples! It’s a great way to learn about new products! Plus, everything is travel sized, so you can throw it in your purse and keep it with you all day! I love that.

Birchbox has a Limited Edition Bridal Box that I’m going to open up with you today. It’s full of fancy products from top companies that are great for preparing for the Big Day.

These adorable little flowers can be pinned on flats, scarves, belts, purses, your wedding binder, or even on your maid of honor while you are wedding dress shopping.

A pair of flats in case you had too many errands to run in your 3 inch heels. These fold up and can be thrown in your purse!

I love the Benefit highbeam pearly liquid. It’s great for achieving a natural looking glow, without looking shiny.
See the glow up by her cheekbones and temple? That can be recreated with Benefit’s highbeam. Imagine how great that would look in photos on your wedding day.

As you can see, this Bridal Box would be an absolute delight to receive for yourself, or to give a as a gift. And Christmas can be the time of year when men pop the question, so you or your friends may be in need of this Box soon!

Birchbox is giving away a Limited Edition Bridal Box to a lucky reader! And it doesn’t matter if you are engaged, married or single–anyone would enjoy the goodies in this box!

How To Enter The BIRCHBOX Bridal Box Giveaway:

1. Become a follower of my blog and leave a comment below (with your email address) telling me which is better, elope/destination wedding or traditional wedding?

Destination wedding all the way! I feel like it would be extra special that way.

I would LOVE to win this gift set so I can give it to my best friend, who got engaged a few months ago and is planning her beach wedding as we speak! This would be a great pick-me-up for her.

I am a follower of your blog 🙂
Having just been married myself this past May, I would say traditional wedding. We paid for and planned it all ourselves…and it was amazing.
However, I am the MOH in a wedding in June at the beach. So, I def think there’s pros to a destination wedding, too!

Congrats to Jenny and Natalie (and Deanna from the original win) on your Birchbox Bridal Box!

Thanks again to all who entered. 🙂

For many people (at least me and my friends), their wedding is going to be “destination” for at least a portion of the guests – it just depends on who you want to travel – family or friends? I’m choosing to get married where I live now, so it’s a destination for my family.

Hey Kate! When I married my hubby, we were in the middle of planning a big traditional wedding. I was in school and he was 3 hours away..I was seriously stressed so we decided that we weren’t going through all of the headache of planning anymore. We called all of our family on a Thursday and got married that Saturday. Not everyone came but the ones who mattered did. 🙂

The type of wedding definitely depends on the couple. I can see pros for each of the three, but for my husband and I we chose a traditional wedding. Our wedding was such an encouraging day because we had so many friends and family to share that day with us. These were people who had been praying for our future spouse all of our lives and encouraged us while we waited. So, eloping or a far-away destination wedding wasn’t for us.

Traditional wedding! I think it’s hard to make your guests/friends/family take time off of work and pay to stay for a few days for a destination wedding, it may not be how they would want to choose to spend their hard earned vacation time or money. I would feel guilty and that’s not the point of a wedding celebration.

We did a traditional wedding, but I can totally see why people either elope or do destination! It makes me want to do it over again — to the same guy, of course, but in a different way. 🙂

Hiya,

I’m a follower (lisa_carbone) via GFC. For me personally I didn’t have a “traditional” wedding…we were married in a Civil Ceremony, had a lovely party with family and immediately went off to our honeymoon the next day. So I guess I’m would choose “other” if that were an option! LOL

Thanks for the lovely giveaway

Our best friends all eloped in tropical places, so I know there’s plenty of drama to be had in either choice! I’d like to think that we were able to cut a good deal out of our halfway-kind of wedding last month, and despite everything that went wrong I’m still glad we were able to have family there with us. Wish I’d known about your tutorials before I let that salon touch my hair, though!

I’m a follower! I don’t think one is better than another as I think that weddings are highly personal and important events! I think that however YOU want to celebrate it is the best! We thought about eloping, because how simple and romantic, right? Then we thought about doing a very small wedding, destination style, but realized that some of the people we wanted to be there wouldn’t be able to make the trip, so we finally settled on a small, traditional wedding. It was the best choice for us because it was important to us that our closest friends and family were there with us to share out vows 🙂

Hey there! My email is JSTeach08(at)gmail(dot)com.

I would personally love to go on vacation and come back married. That way I could keep it intimate and spend more money on us than on a great party… BUT my brother and my sister both eloped and my mom really wants to be present at my wedding. And my boyfriend’s parents want to be there, too. Oh well. We’ll keep it small!

That said, I don’t think there’s one type that is superior – it just depends on what you and your honey want for your big day 🙂

I had a destination wedding nearly 12 years ago and to this day I would not have done it any other way. I love the beauty of a traditional wedding but all of planning and drama are too much for me.

I think it depends your budget. My first one was traditional and took a lot of planning and money. My second one was a destination & was very simple. The biggest cost was hotel and flight. I think one needs to look at budget and reality and see what they want.

I think destination are better! As a wedding planner who isn’t married I have learned a lot of things, and the most important thing for the wedding is the couple, not the party. Do destination wedding with the people you most care about, then come home and throw a “we got married” party! Best of both worlds, not to mention your friends will appreciate it. [email protected]

I think a traditional wedding is best for the families and the bride and groom to be able to enjoy the day with their loved ones; however, a destination wedding would be a lot less stressful! 🙂

Which is better, elope/destination wedding or traditional wedding? Each has its own advantages…
ELOPE..no muss, no fuss….
DESTINATION you get to go somewhere fun that might not be an option otherwise…and last but not least
TRADITIONAL with its time honor ceremony is so special… Whatever a bride chooses will be memorable for her and her groom!!!

Hi!

I would say eloping is the way to go. My initial plans when I got married were to go to the court house and sign papers down there. My in-laws had other ideas. 🙂 We ended up having a small ceremony in my parents back yard but, I still would could to the court house if I had to do it over again. No muss, no fuss. It’s not about the party it’s about the marriage.

I think both types of weddings work well, however for me, it had to be traditional. I have 2 g-mas who are elderly and wouldn’t be able to attend a destination wedding. After being in several traditional weddings this year and seeing how stressed my girlfriends got, I would much rather elope and then celebrate with friends and family later. Plus, coming from a city (Seattle) with lots of rain, the idea of having my wedding in a sunny, beachy place sounds fabulous. 🙂

I have always imagined my wedding as traditional, I want a small intimate wedding, not too many people and I just can’t wait to marry my best friend after dating for 4 years and knowing each other for 7 years total. It would be awesome to have a destination wedding but definitely not very affordable for me and then I wouldn’t be able to invite everyone that I wanted to.

Destination in that my fiance & I currently live in Salt Lake City, but both grew up in San Diego so that is where we are planning it. All of our friends and family live in Southern California so it will still be traditional! Best of both worlds!

Speaking as someone that had a large, beautiful, and (yikes) expensive wedding…I wish I would have went with my gut feeling an Eloped. Just think of it, take a weekend or week to celebrate you love and the joining of two families. Make it a vaca with the ones you love for the same price as a large wedding that lasts one day.

I had a traditional wedding and it was perfect for my husband and I. We attended the College of William and Mary and the chapel there was built between 1695 and 1699. We got married in the chapel and then had our reception at Legacy Hall, which was built in 2007 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the settlement of Jamestown. We loved both of our venues and all of the amazing people who could join us on our wedding day! I think it just depends on the couple though 🙂

My dream wedding is a small venue with family members and friends and having kind of a vintage theme. I think it would be neat for everyone to wear vintage clothing and have vintage decorations. I would totally love to elope though too but my family members would KILL me LOL.

I have become an official follower of your blog! And also get emails sending me what you have blogged about recently.

I think destination weddings are great! I am in the middle of trying to plan mine for this spring! Traditional weddings are great, but I feel that my style wedding would be more of a smaller, simpler wedding, idealy on the beach and barefoot with a white sundress.
While a more traditional wedding would make me feel trapped into the huge dress, 100’s of guests and a large bill!

Hi! I adore you! You have helped transform me into a cute hair girl…I was seriously challenged before your blog!

My boyfriend has been hinting about proposing so I have launched a full scale Pinterest planning board for our Not So Traditional Wedding :)I think a wedding with all your friends and family is best! Your loved ones want to help you celebrate the start of your life with your honey! Just because it’s “Traditional” does not mean it needs to be A.EXPENSIVE or B.BORING….Our wedding is going to highlight all the fun, quirky things about our personalities and how we cherish that in one another. I need to throw a rockin’ party to thank my friends and family who listened to me lament during my very single period.
Birchbox is amazing, you are amazing! Keep up the good work!

I already follow your blog 🙂 Personally I think that eloping is the best option. While weddings are wonderful, beautiful occasions, so often they become about everything but the bride and groom and why they have decided to get married. Eloping offers couples the opportunity to go to the locale of their choosing and enjoy a mostly stress-free day focused purely on themselves and why they are devoting their lives to one another. But that is just how I feel about it :)([email protected])
