The Big Reveal: New Studio

I absolutely adore my new studio. It is a major, major upgrade. And my window is awesome. Who knew I could appreciate a window so much.

So here is the tour: It could still use a few finishing touches, but I'm kind of saving that for when my mom visits. . .she's good at tying a room together. :)

We start with my favorite corner:

I've got tons of storage space for all my stuff. It's wonderful.

Talk about eye sore. That door is hideous. Uhg. I need to replace the "screen" thing with a nicer, matching drape or something. 


The LOVELY canvas'. What do you think of the look? 



Just to give a little perspective of size. Not my size, the rooms size. :)

So to those who live near me and can come in to the salon, Welcome! And those that cannot, I wish you could! But I hope you enjoyed the tour!

  3. I don't know anyone down there. . .but look for referrals! Look up wedding photographers that work in Charleston and see if they work with anyone.

  8. I love the new studio! How cute! You could try a nice light grey raw silk curtain swaged to one side on the door? That might look nice. I live about 2 hours from Raleigh and I am truly contemplating driving that far to get my hair done. Crazy? I think not, more like crazy for your mad skills! Love your blog! Keep up the great work! Good luck with your new studio and the next time I'm in Raleigh I'll make an appt. for sure!

  22. Love it!!! Congrats! Paint the trim/moulding around the door a nice crisp white, that should perk it up a bit!!

  24. I second the thought to paint the trim around the door. Also, you could get one of those stickers that "frosts" the glass in the door so you can lose the icky shade but still allow light to enter in. I've seen some awesome frost stickers in great patterns (solid would look great too).

  34. It's gorgeous!! I really wish you were near me... I can't find a hairdresser that I really love. Well, that's not entirely true. I've got one that I love (an old friend) but I just can't afford her.

    I probably wouldn't be able to afford you either. But anyway, I love it!

    Wish you lived nearby AND that I could afford you... how's that? ;)

    Ok i have a question. I live in Canada and I'm going to Texas tomorrow. Can you tell me how much i should be paying for the redken shampoo and condition u use and the aquage foaming. I just want to see if it's way cheaper there. Also, is the redken stuff at Target as good as salon based ones?

  44. Anonymous: Razor cut bangs can look great if done correctly. And it all depends on your texture too. If you feel they look frayed, maybe bangs cut with shears would be more the way to go!

  46. Heidi and Allison: You can expect to pay approx. $15-17 each for the shampoo and conditioner and about $20 for the aquage uplifting foam.

    And I would avoid , if you can, buying it at target as a lot of products lines wont guarantee their products unless they are purchased at a salon, or a store like Ulta (which as a salon in it).
