I absolutely adore my new studio. It is a major, major upgrade. And my window is awesome. Who knew I could appreciate a window so much.
So here is the tour: It could still use a few finishing touches, but I'm kind of saving that for when my mom visits. . .she's good at tying a room together. :)
We start with my favorite corner:
Remember those from this post? Repurposed!
Lots and Lots of products. :)
I've got tons of storage space for all my stuff. It's wonderful.
Our Elisabeth Ashlie wall needs to be stocked up!
Talk about eye sore. That door is hideous. Uhg. I need to replace the "screen" thing with a nicer, matching drape or something.
The LOVELY canvas'. What do you think of the look?
Just to give a little perspective of size. Not my size, the rooms size. :)
So to those who live near me and can come in to the salon, Welcome! And those that cannot, I wish you could! But I hope you enjoyed the tour!
OH WOW! It's beautiful! Very classay!
ReplyDeleteI WISH I lived near you. Currently looking for someone to do wedding hair in Charleston, SC. Do you know of anyone?
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone down there. . .but look for referrals! Look up wedding photographers that work in Charleston and see if they work with anyone.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the wedding?
I am SO tempted to break up with my hair stylist Of 5 years and come to you!! Gonna have to seriously think about it. The new space looks great! Love reading all about your DIY projects and then seeing them used. It's awesome! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteyour salon is the berries

ReplyDelete-Steph
Looks awesome, I should send my sister to you!
ReplyDeleteI love the new studio! How cute! You could try a nice light grey raw silk curtain swaged to one side on the door? That might look nice. I live about 2 hours from Raleigh and I am truly contemplating driving that far to get my hair done. Crazy? I think not, more like crazy for your mad skills! Love your blog! Keep up the great work! Good luck with your new studio and the next time I'm in Raleigh I'll make an appt. for sure!

ReplyDeleteHi Kate! Was wondering what brand color you use?
ReplyDeleteLove this! Is this in your home or at an office? Unbelievably cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! And you look so cute and happy in your new space! I wish I could come! :)
ReplyDeleteI am SO coming in to see you! I need a trim very badly! And I will start planning our dinner very soon! So excited that you live close!
ReplyDeleteThis looks GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteLove the look! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! Congrats! Paint the trim/moulding around the door a nice crisp white, that should perk it up a bit!!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: I used Behr paint plus primer! The color is Porpoise.
ReplyDeleteI second the thought to paint the trim around the door. Also, you could get one of those stickers that "frosts" the glass in the door so you can lose the icky shade but still allow light to enter in. I've seen some awesome frost stickers in great patterns (solid would look great too).
ReplyDeleteI love it!! Hi, I'm a new blogger, and I follow Shannon Dew (life after I dew) Just thought I'd drop a quick comment and tell you that your salon looks AWESOME!!!! I can't wait to read your blog!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great new space! I'd love to get my hair done w/ you!! ;) Maybe if we ever visit Raleigh! :)
ReplyDeleteKatie, great space! Where do you buy your products from? Thx
ReplyDeleteDiana
Love it! Wish I lived there and could come in for an appointment! :)
ReplyDeleteDiana: I buy them from professional beauty supple stores.

ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful!!!! Such a classy place!
ReplyDeleteA Sweet Release
awesome!! i also tried to aquage and love it! thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous!! I really wish you were near me... I can't find a hairdresser that I really love. Well, that's not entirely true. I've got one that I love (an old friend) but I just can't afford her.
ReplyDeleteI probably wouldn't be able to afford you either. But anyway, I love it!
Wish you lived nearby AND that I could afford you... how's that? ;)
why oh why can't i live near you ! LOL
ReplyDeleteOk i have a question. I live in Canada and I'm going to Texas tomorrow. Can you tell me how much i should be paying for the redken shampoo and condition u use and the aquage foaming. I just want to see if it's way cheaper there. Also, is the redken stuff at Target as good as salon based ones?
thanks Heidi
Hey, its been a WHILE!! I ran into your picture on pin intrest! Looks as if our days are filled with similar projects... KEEP CREATING! Your hair, your studio, your passion ... abosultely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMegan Carey
Hi! I was wanting to ask you your opinion on using a razor to cut bangs. I just went to a new girl and she used one on my hair and now it looks frayed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful studio! I like the canvases!
ReplyDeletewww.colleenandkeith.blogspot.com
The new studio looks great!! Can't wait to see it in person! You are wonderful! Glad the rest of the world now knows your mad skills and awesomeness and why I followed you even when you moved out of my town :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great - I really love the pop of orange!
ReplyDeleteHey Kate I was asking earlier about the color you use? I want to know the brand hair color you use on your clients. LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! The space looks awesome and totally your style. I am happy that you are so pumped about it :) To bad I dont live close enough to pop by cuz I totally would!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: I use Redken color on my clients. :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: Razor cut bangs can look great if done correctly. And it all depends on your texture too. If you feel they look frayed, maybe bangs cut with shears would be more the way to go!

ReplyDeletealison
I woulde like to know this too.
Heidi and Allison: You can expect to pay approx. $15-17 each for the shampoo and conditioner and about $20 for the aquage uplifting foam.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would avoid , if you can, buying it at target as a lot of products lines wont guarantee their products unless they are purchased at a salon, or a store like Ulta (which as a salon in it).
Thanks!
what size would the 15-17 be for?
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! I so need to come see you!! I need a trim and need to learn how to do a good poof! So glad you are in Raleigh!
ReplyDeleteLove it! The canvas arts are adorable :)
ReplyDeleteLove it~ I wish I lived closer :)
ReplyDeletelooks really good girl!
ReplyDeleteNew spot looks great!!!!! I sure wish that I lived near you...wherever that may be...I'm in Nashville...and don't think you are....but wish we were closer because I'd sure love to come sit in that chair and let you do wonders on this head of hair!
ReplyDeleteMy lucky day!!! So excited you are in Raleigh!
ReplyDeleteI heart this blog. Thank you so much for sharing tips about hair! I sent you an email to this blog email account asking about driving to you in Raliegh to do my hair. I'm in Charlotte. I'm that serious. Serious. I used to drive 5 hours from St. Louis to Fayetteville, AR for my person.
ReplyDeleteCrazy, yes. But I'd do it for good hair. ;)

ReplyDeleteI wish I could! I came across your page from Pinterest and them stumbled upon your hair tutorial videos- FANTASTIC! Besides those being so great, I adore your hair color. Glad to be a reader now.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your studio. To bad I live so far from you (I'm in Chicago) otherwise you would most definitely be my stylist.
ReplyDeleteKate,
ReplyDeleteI know I'm a little late for the party, but I just stumbled upon your blog via Pinterest and have enjoyed exploring it. I'm in the Raleigh area and though it's not quite hair, I have been in DESPERATE need of a good brow waxer. I've tried SO many places over the last 2 years...any recommendations? Thanks! :)
Where are you located at in Raleigh? and do you do wedding hair?!?!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your new salon!! It looks amazing, classy and professional. Didn't realize you had a solo shop, congrats, I know that's tough! Sure wish I didn't live on the other side of the US, I'd be your best client!! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks really good, but I thought there would be more pink:)
